Gamestop’s only chance of survival in my opinion is to become a ‘destination’. There’s a local comic book store in my town that set up several card tables in the rear and people flock there to play Magic and DnD together. Finding a niche like that, a reason to socialize at their locations, is probably their best bet.…
Wait, so the company with no business plan that was bailed out by retail investors memeing STILL DOESN’T HAVE A BUSINESS PLAN AND IS JUST THROWING SHIT AT A WALL HOPING SOMETHING STICKS?
I mean, the kid loves Squishmallows, and the non-exclusive ones are a reasonable deal for their size. But that’s also tat that I can get at any other retail store. Why go out of my way to buy a Funko Pop at Gamestop when I can get the same thing at Target while I’m shopping for other stuff? Hell, some days I think…
It was fine. I was a little surprised with how dour the Rock is in this. What I like about his movies is the effervescent charisma and sense of humor that he usually brings. This movie had just a taste of that. I hope, now that the origin has been established, that any future movies with Black Adam will let the Rock…
A bit messy and too much “I’m not a hero” repetition (We get it), but I enjoyed it.
That’s the problem - they have no backup model. It might be giving them too much credit to suggest that their leadership is just throwing things against the wall and seeing what sticks.
Yeah, went in recently to try and find something new for the kid to play on Switch. I didn’t have anything in particular I was looking for, but the selection was abysmal, half the stuff I would have considered buying are “indie” titles that they never sold in the first place and probably won’t take as trade-in, and…
Unfortunately.
I believe you’ll find the vast majority of responses to your question will be “No.”
I like to imagine there’s a timeline when they didn’t acquire ThinkGeek. I miss that store before Gamestop got it.
Gamestop doesn’t even allow me to pre-order physical games for store pickup anymore unless I do it in person. I like to pick up games on release day but I don’t want to have to go into the store just to pre-order them so I have switched to BestBuy.
Have you been to a Gamestop lately? I picked up groceries and some power steering fluid while looking for some Splatoon Amiibo reissues the other day.
I’m not a regular CoD player, but I have played in the past. Any action game that requires you to stare at a minimap is lame. It always sucks to feel like “oh I didn’t know that guy was there cause I wasn’t staring up at the corner of the screen”.
If the audio design was up to snuff they could make the argument that you could use sounds cues to guide you but...
True, maybe. I mean, lots of shooters don’t do that. But I was just mocking the statement generally.
If you ask me—and you did, remember?—having people show up on the minimap takes the thrill out of it. And I’m as casual as they get.
If it ends up being horrendous, I’m sure they can just patch it back in or something…
I would guess removing players from the minimap would make it harder, not easier.
Not really a COD player but I think I’d prefer more of a hide and seek than people knowing where you are the instant you fire. I don’t have time to look down there for red dots.
Kind of like videos on Gizmodo.
And you made this a fucking video?!
