I’ve heard the Elantra Sport is a pretty fun car. It’s a good alternative to the Civic Si.

The Type R is a pretty compelling reason.

Type R uses 245/30/20 tires from factory. You can upsize a bit to 35 profile without issue.

I had a rental one of these a few years back. I think that as a whole, my shifts were more consistently smooth with far less shuddering when I was learning how to drive stick versus what I experienced in that Focus.

That was painful to watch. Learn on your own car, or at least someone else’s who gave you permission...

Fuck all the haters. I want one so badly. Especially in that orange. Oh god that orange is one of the best colors I’ve seen on a car.

Something I heard about the M240i is that the steering feel on it sucks. It’s like super light and you can’t feel the road at all. The M2 corrects that, but it ups the price considerably.

I think that I’d be content with a BRZ, honestly. Maybe a used Cayman if I’m feeling adventurous. This thing was ripe for a manual transmission. But for $70K I’m not sure why I would buy this.

Is it worth it over an M240i?

Manual transmissions force you to pay more attention. Hard to shift if one hand is on the wheel and the other is on your phone. My focus has improved a ton since i started driving a stick. It actually helps my ADHD.

My lights are almost always on auto, unless maybe it’s cloudy out and I want extra conspiciousness.

I guess I’m born to like “ugly” cars, because I have not a single issue with a Lexus. SUV, sedan, coupe, whatever it is, I like how it looks.

I don’t mind EVs but now that I’m baptised to the manual transmission I’m not sure I could go back. And I doubt an EV with a stick will ever come out (is that even possible to accomplish?).

I look back and think it’s kind of dumb how I struggled so hard in the beginning, but I guess everyone has their own pace. The 295 lb-ft in my car didn’t help too much when my foot just wanted to fly off the clutch.

Dude, sweet, that thing looks sick! It took me a while to get driving a stick down, but I also had no sort of experience before, outside of video games.

I have like a mixed of both - I currently average 27.7 MPG in my CTR. Most of my commute is just back roads or main arterials that aren’t necessarily highways.

That is true, I’d just be too worried about accidentally cooking it by giving it too much gas and then doing some sort of burnout and losing control.

This was, and might still be, one of my dream cars when I was younger. I love how the C6 looks, I love the sound it makes, and the only reason I don’t have one parked in my garage is because I didn’t think I could make it a practical daily driver. I also think trying to learn how to stick shift on a Corvette, a Z06 no

I like the design of these. I like them more than the 2020 one, honestly. Something about the newest one just puts me off.

I tried heel toeing once myself and the only thing I did was brake harder than intended and miss the gas pedal.
