My parents both smoked, mom endless brands of menthol cigs, always menthol, yuck. Dad smoked semi expensive cigars, along with pretty cheap ones too. My sister and I never understood the appeal of it at all, and neither of us ever smoked, except one time I was working outside and was freezing, and was told smoking…

That’s assuming nicotine is the only addictive chemical, and from personal experience, I’d say that’s not true. I tried hand-rolling for a while before quitting. I got nicotine, but something was missing. My body would tell me I didn’t get whatever it was I needed from the hand rolled tobacco.

It will not. Older studies comparing use of “regular” and reduced nicotine cigarettes showed that users of reduced nicotine brands took longer drags, held the smoke longer, and smoked a greater number of cigarettes.  They never found any health benefits to reduced nicotine formulations.
