I’m not the biggest Culture buff but doesn’t a LOT of stuff happen in that book? It is pretty accessible as far as not having that many stupidly big ideas, but unless you cut a bunch I would think it would be a good 2 seasons for that one.

You’d have to go with a series for the Culture novels and probably have to boil a bunch of stuff off of it to make it comprehensible to most people.  I’d watch the hell out of a 10 episode series adapted directly from Matter, but I’m not sure most people would...

Reviled by who? I love this movie; everyone was great in it but I would single out Viola Davis. And that Cliff Martinez score, gorgeous. Sure, it was doesn’t have a 12-minute wordless shot of a guy in a taxi or whatever, so I guess it’s not ART.

I feel like Oliver does a pretty good job of at performing actual action or letting people know action they can take. It’s how he concludes most of his segments. Not that those actions are necessarily the most effective, but its something.

He improvised brilliantly, and repeatedly. He’s quick and smart. Yes, Colbert is a special case, pivotally because he started as an actor. But Stewart was on point, night after night after night. I wouldn’t dismiss what he accomplished, and could still accomplish, any more than I’d dismiss David Letterman. I sure as

I love

Ha, I totally flew out to DC for that. It was phenomenally underwhelming, but the trip itself was actually real fun. Hit up all the monuments, John Oliver burst into the diner I was eating breakfast at to do a quick run of soundbites, and then when it ended I grabbed a red eye train ride to New York and spent

Turns out the whole series will just be an expansion of his rant against deep-dish pizza.

“First they came for the Sex Traffickers, and I did not speak out... because they’re fucking Sex Traffickers.”

Also cancel culture doesn’t mean what you think it does?

As is pointed out in the article, the MCU went with a different tone from The Dark Knight and was hugely successful.

Paging Dr. Rockso...

Jay is very talented, but I don’t think he ever really managed to turn a caricature into a character in his impressions. His best work on the show for me was Principal Frye.

“MOTHRA. WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME!?”

When Kong signed to Godzilla, “We are not so different, you and I,” I was almost overcome by emotion.

And watch the whole “The Dana Carvey Show “series (which got cancelled far too quickly!) as it is hilarious and features many comedy all-stars.

Three weeks off and we got perhaps the worst episode of the season.”

“There weren’t any bad sketches...”

If you really want to make Ryan Adams mad, ask him to play Summer of '69.

My concern here is her feeling is “everybody was an asshole. Thomas, Martin, Kumail, TJ...all assholes,” at some point starts to look like “maybe you’re not likeable here.” I’m sure her feelings and experience as well as responses are all warranted, but when you think everybody sucks, maybe you suck.
