I think "Puffer" is the best song on the album, it's maybe the best track Speedy have done yet. You can't get away from the Pavement comparisons but at least they are cribbing from the best.

Don't know if anybody else has said them but I'd have to say Sleater-Kinney. The Woods was such a brilliant album which people lost their minds over and the live shows were fantastic. They had the best album sales of their career as well. It's good to see that they are bigger than ever now after the 'hiatus' ended.

Janet is probably the best drummer I've ever seen live…but I still dunno if I'd buy a set of her unused drum sticks.

I don't really think Marissa sounds like Corin Tucker at all tbh. Apart from that, I like the new more 'polished' sounds and the way the songs often pull back instead of going full throttle at all times. And the new stuff will sound great live. But is it as good as another album by a punk/rock three piece - S-K's No

ah ok, point taken. It'd just be a pity that after waiting so long for S-K to reunite it'd be over again in less than a year.

I completely agree, it's so weird when people only know her from this ok comedy show, and not this super intense punk band who broke all the rules with Carrie's incredible guitar playing being such a huge part of that. I do think judging by the reaction to the shows and concerts that S-K will maybe do one more run in

Bored with S-K!? Heresy.

Man I hope this doesn't mean that the S-K reunion is a one and done thing, but I fear it will. I'd much rather Carrie kept making some of the best music of the last twenty years than this…ok comedy show. Oh well, at least I get to see S-K three times before the next 'hiatus'.

I thought it was only me who felt like that when they harmonise on that song. This band does weird emotional things to people I can't even begin to explain.

This was a cool interview and it was great to see how passionate Corin *looks at Dig Me Out cover and sighs wistfully* is about the band. No comment on Carrie's…um…answers.

They'll go down as the best punk rock songwriters of all time, they work so well together. Add to that Janet's drums and you've got the perfect band. And yes, I've had a crush on Corin since I was a mere teenager in the Dig Me Out days. *sighs wistfully*

Corin is so good on this album it's ridiculous.

yeah you can really tell. The choruses remind me a bit of All Hands on the Bad One, except this album has slightly better songs.

God this album is just terrific. Even better than we had any right to expect it to be. It's got the best choruses they've maybe ever done, like in Surface Envy or A New Wave. Corin's vocals are just…earth shatteringly powerful. Carrie's riffs are wild and crazy and Janet proves again she's the best drummer around. S-K

I think she'll just be at the back of the stage tbh. I think the relationship between S-K and it's fans is an earnest one, I mean listening to the albums again last year helped me deal with some personal issues, and I doubt I'm alone in that, I think the band and the fans need each other equally as much for S-K to

I think they performed 'A New Wave' cos it's going to be the single that's released to radio I was told. Tbh I do love 'A New Wave' on the album but I wish they had performed 'Surface Envy' which I feel is already a definitive S-K song, with Corin taking things to the next level.
I was also a bit unsure about the new

I dunno if you saw the Letterman performance, but it eased my worries as they ripped it up and Carrie and Corin were really into it. I still think they are the best band around tbh.

yeah I agree, they never really get the credit they deserve from the public, even back to Dig Me Out which is one of the best punk albums ever made they only really were a 'cult' band, shit, it's even the case with One Beat which is a terrific record. As for the Portlandia stuff I try to ignore that and think of

yeah I agree, I doubt that most of these people are actually fans of S-K, and yeah it seems that Carrie's celebrity has taken over the band to an extent, which what I feared might happen with this comeback. It's still very odd to me then she's more famous for a…not really very good comedy show than for being guitarist
