yeah I love it when she just lets go and her voice takes over the song. Thankfully that happens quite a bit on the new album.

weirdly it was Corin's vocals that made me a fan in the first place…ok I also had a big crush on her.

I'm a bit unsure about it as well, I preferred back in the day when S-K seemed to be far more than just another band. All this celebrity stuff…not for me. And Fred Armisen creeps me out. Still I agree that the new album is awesome and the live shows will be great. But yeah, I'm uneasy about this. I'm probably over

The S-K album is fantastic, Corin's vocals *drools in a Homer J Simpson style*

Well at least we still have Sarah and Adnan's jailhouse wedding to look forward to

I've tried to get into Portlandia but it's just too 'nice'. Also Fred Armisen seems weird to me. Thankfully Carrie will be back to what she does best - playing in the best punk…fuck it, the best band around - very soon.

a great scene

her book of short stories is very good as well

Normally 'twee' and 'quirky' stuff annoys me - but I think Miranda July's work is really good, the characters should be really annoying but they appeal to me in a weird way. *puts on cardigan and does a ridiculous interpretive dance*

yeah the production is a bit weird but as you say the songs are so good it overcomes that

wow, that's pretty amazing. Yeah, my username is after that album, probably my favourite album, in fact Husker Du were my favourite band - until I discovered S-K in 1997.

RELATED STORY: I saw Fugazi live in…1998 I think and after the first song Ian MacKaye made a guy who threw a drink get up on stage and clean it up. Lucky that Ian's nice new outfit wasn't ruined. *rim shot*

ah, that's a pity, I'm seeing them twice over here in the UK in March, they should be incredible gigs.

It seems weird to me than any S-K fan - and I know that Marah is a fan - could think that The Woods is 'just-okay', the songs are explosive and got even better when they played them live. And yeah, S-K do rule.

tbh her style really progressed if you compare Call the Doctor to The Woods for example, there's no comparison really.

I think Carrie said something like they wanted to 'split their audience in half'. Corin's wailing was what me made me a fan in the first place tbh, I love it when she goes all-out, she does on the new album thankfully.

that was the idea of the album as well I remember Carrie saying in interviews, they wanted the music to be uncomfortable. Fuck it, it's an awesome album.

I just saw that - there's never any love for It's Always Sunny it seems

The Woods is 'just okay'? It's one of the best albums S-K ever put out, the run of tracks from 'What's Mine is Yours' to 'Entertain' is possibly unmatched in all of S-K's albums. Spoiler alert on the new album - it's absurdly good, especially after such a long hiatus.
