The land sits too low and floods regularly, the land in itself is near worthless for anything other than a nature area, or keeping the track and dealing with the flooding once a year.

Automania sucked as soon as they moved it from downtown Sioux Falls. I get that it was growing too big, but half the appeal of Automania was the atmosphere and all of the other fun places to visit and restaurants to eat at in DT Sioux Falls. Now it’s just another boomer filled car show, you file in line and walk one…
I would kill to have this track turned into a rally type course, there is a huge lack of those types of places around here. At this point though I’ll just be happy if the track survives.
Condos are a bad idea, this land is way low in a flood plain, it’s flooded at least once a year for the last 5-10 years at least.
You’d be surprised, I am a local here and know/knew a lot of the racers who used to frequent this track. Before Chuck this track never had any trouble filling a field of cars, from lower level hobby stocks, up to the big 410 sprints. There were also a couple of big name regulars here and it was a stop on the World of…
This has truly been exhausting, with a lot of shitty deals happening on both sides of the sale. At the end of the day I really hope that someone comes through and buys this track. It’s a great track with a lot of history in the area and it would be sad to see it go.
Neutral: I bought a used truck recently, 2014 F-150 FX4, CC LB. Came really close to buying a new truck because incentives and interest rates put payments near each other, but the all in price on the new truck was just too high when I’ve got other things I want to be saving and paying for.
Yeah, I’m still in my late 20's. The time I’m remembering was roughly 2005.
Couldn’t find a conversion for sheep power, but it does equate to roughly 38,000 cat power.
Oh yeah, I got that, just find it funny that anything making 430 HP can be considered “only” when not that long ago 430 HP was unheard of an any pickup.
I like how 430HP is considered “only” now. I still remember when any truck that had HP in the 300's was hot stuff.
So then a big-ass bro truck does make me tough. Got it.
Get outta here with you’re fancy heated ass motorcycle with a windshield, radio, and bags. Ride a hardtail bobber or GTFO. /s
Point being? I’m well aware of the differences, my point was that most people who buy a big truck for a status symbol typically go for the 3/4, and most people who opt for the full 1 ton usually have a reason to buy it.
You want a really good deal look at gasser 3/4 tons. Diesels hold value really well, but no one wants a 3/4 gasser. I nearly ended up with one myself but found a good deal on an F-150 first.
Yeah no. 3/4 tons are arguably more of a status symbol than any other truck. I will somewhat agree that most people driving full tonners actually need them, but certainly not all.
I have a secret love for the Xtreme, it’s like a factory attempted, 2000's era, magazine show truck. As a 13 year old kid who read a lot of Trukin’ Magazine when these were new, I always thought these things were cool.
Coils hurt payload and the ride improvement over leafs really isn’t that great.
Well it sure as hell isn’t South Dakota. That I can say for sure.
