I live in the midwest and still manage 4-5 thousand a year, and I’m usually a fair weather rider and don’t usually take long trips. How some people ride so little astounds me.

I don’t understand how the Sportster can cost so damn much, its barely been changed since the late ‘80's. I know there have been updates; rubber mounted engine, fuel injection etc. but the platform is pretty much the same and the engine is basically identical.
How many bikes do they sell in Europe? It’s probably not insignificant, but I don’t think it’s a ton either. Out of those how many are the Wisconsin made bikes, and how many are the Indian* made Street 500/750?
I daily a 19 year old pickup with 205,000 miles on it, so I’ve got pretty low standards for road/wind/tire noise and ride quality, and this thing was still bad. There is a certain charm in it sure, but after you spend 24 hours in one you can’t wait to be done with it.
Drove one of these from SD to FL and while it wasn’t quite as bad as I expected it sure wasn’t good. It was very loud, very windy, very rough and bumpy, and the passenger seat doesn’t recline, not even a little. I will say though that it accelerated surprisingly well while being fully loaded and towing an Escape,…
Funny, I know very little people who don’t own a truck.
They always clear both lanes but in this case it looks like either A. It was early enough that the plows hadn’t gotten out yet*. B. It was snowing enough and windy enough to undo all of the work the plows had done in a matter of minutes (this happens quite often in winter storms around here).
Could be a demographic thing, GMCs are pretty popular here in the midwest, and you know how proud we are of our pickups. Any chance one can get to make sure you know how nice of a pickup they have they’ll take it. I’ve seen/heard the same thing with King Ranch, Platinum, Laramie Longhorn, Laramie, Cummins, basically…
I guess my point is that Denali stands above the GMC name so much that people refer to their truck as a 2015 Denali, and not a Sierra Denali, Yukon Denali etc. Really they aren’t any more special than a “Touring” or any other make’s top trim level, but I’ve never heard someone say, “Yeah, I just bought a new…
I agree, but for some reason it keeps working in respects to GMC/Chevy. GMC has the appearance of being slightly more upscale (even though they’re not really) so you have people who’d never been seen in a lowly Chevy and would likely shop elsewhere, and I’m sure you can imagine the chaos that would come from trying to…
The funny thing is you can’t get rid of GMC because they have brand loyalists just like the others. Personally I don’t think I’d ever buy a Chevy, yet I would buy a GMC, and I’m intimately familiar with the similarities. I think GMC’s generally look nicer, and have a slightly more upscale feel to them.
It’s not the GMC badge, it’s the Denali badge. Denali carries a huge aura about it and they are most definitely considered luxury vehicles. I bet GM could make Denali it’s own stand alone brand of luxury vehicles and they’d sell better than Cadillac. A quick scan through CL will likely show multiple postings for…
My favorite gif, don’t get to use this one nearly often enough.
Honest question, what is it about Two Lane Blacktop that people like so much? I watched it and just didn’t get it, the characters were dull, events were very random, plot was basically non existent, just don’t get it. Cars were pretty awesome though. Maybe I’ll have to watch it again, and again, until I get it.
The whole premise of this is crazy so going into the math is somewhat pointless, but it’s still fun to speculate.
With how fast they can rebuild those engines, and how fast those cars are, it still might have a chance.
By this point we just expect you to have a constant rotation of barely salvageable projects. I think we’d like to see more projects from the rest of the staff. You just keep doing what you’re doing.
Good call.
