This doesn't seem like a particularly tricky question.

"One: Darling daughter, in the future, please do not put your genitals on the appliances. Or food, or anything that is not used solely by you.

Two: Here is a $100 VISA gift card. Here is the Amazon sexual health subsite. Get whatever you want. I suggest not starting

Uh, because she's awesome?

"Monolith's open-world RPG, X, will be released on the Wii U in 2014. "

I will be flabbergasted if they make this date, given how little we've seen of it.

"He is a victim in that his privacy was invaded by this women and she either wanted to blackmail him or just screw him over with the recording."

You're just straight up pointing out how he defended a racist now. I'm really confused, aren't you supposed to be arguing against me?

"But the threat of bad publicity from activist gaming media for a perceived insult/racist/sexist/homophobic/whatever remark (rather than a real one),"

Who decides what is a "real" bigoted remark? Is this covered in Emily Post

"A person can be a racist asshole and a victim at the same time, it isn't mutually exclusive."

Okay? He defended Sterling, saying he had the right to be a bigot in his home. Sterling is a racist. Ergo, he defended a racist. Nothing you've said undermines my assertion.

Defending explicit racists in public is not

There's a difference when you call men "men" or "guys," and call women "females." It's an effort — unconscious or conscious — to Other women, to make them into a wholly separate animal and treat them as such.

It's dehumanizing. It's the way you'd refer to a fucking animal you were breeding. The only time it's appropriate is if you're referring to men and women in a very vague, scientific way ("...females taking this medication..."). It's not even wholly accurate, as "female" can be a pretty fraught descriptor to use with

"He was attempting to make a larger point while using a timely issue for reference."

And failed spectacularly!

Nope. I'm completely able to grasp his points. Doesn't make them valid. Saying "I wasn't defending racism" doesn't make it true. That's explicitly what he was doing. Which is legal, but don't expect to get away with doing it while you're the PR spokesperson for a major company.

One day, god willing, our country will be able to get to a place where white guys can defend racists and racism without having to worry about their jobs. Truly, this is the dream Dr. King spoke of.

-_-

I love that I can immediately tell what kind of person a guy is (read: shitty) when he refers to women as "females."

Whereas the previous seasons seemed often to be about recognizing yourself in Louis through humorous situations, this season seems to be about recognizing yourself in Louis in disturbing situations. I can happily say I've never sexually assaulted a woman (...go me?), but I think most men, myself included, can say

Remove all characters, shortcuts, different vehicles, skidding, and turns. Just a straightaway with everyone positioned at the same point. Then we can have a truly equal playing field for everyone.

This is ridiculous. This is easier to master than skid boosting and far, far less effective. So why are people complaining

Uh, I wouldn't. Children are children, regardless of how abhorrent their crimes are. No one's saying these kids shouldn't be punished and treated, SO MUCH TREATMENT. But children are not adults.

Missandei and Grey Worm fucking would be so attractive that it would break my TV screen. Her ass alone strained it pretty bad.

Asajj is cool, but if they're going to the trouble of rebooting the entire Expanded Universe, lets get some new characters! I really hope one of them is a villain, though. Women have made a lot of progress in starring roles, and not enough in villainy >:-)

Yeah, Kinja is indeed pretty awful. Though it'd help if the sites hired a dedicated moderator or even implemented a report button. Having to email the tips line to report a wildly racist comment, for example, is pretty ridiculous.

That's a little bit overwrought, I think. I agree it's a little bit silly to censor it, but the uncensored image is featured prominently in the link.

I'm convinced Gawker.com commenters are mostly people who outgrew 4chan, but have still had their attitudes shaped by it. Jezebel is normally better than that, but these types of stories generally attract commentariat from the mothership site.
