So much class envy in these comments. This sites hatred of wealthy people is always entertaining.

This. People love to talk about how employers underpay people but it’s hard to find data that actually shows their claims. The biggest reason for this is that the definition of “underpaid” is subjective. What one person might deem as being underpaid might be a satisfactory salary to someone else.

It’s good for clicks, gets all the communists nice & riled up that someone can afford to donate money to charity.

That’s a funny analogy to apply, because it implies brute force on one side and finesse on the other.

Rick Hendrick is known for buying first production Corvettes and Camaros at Barrett Jackson. The sales go to charity, I’m sure he’s figured out some way to make it worthwhile financially to him. Also, I don’t think he’s driving any of these cars anymore, they’re more or less museum pieces.

Reading the post above would indicate that this was an auction to benefit a charitable cause; The Steven Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, to be precise; and the very inflated price of this car is entirely to that organizations benefit.
