Amen.  Any straight piped V6 is gonna sound like garbage.

What is “good sounding” when it comes to engines anyhow? I doubt most people could adequately quantify it. Everybody loves 911's right? Well I think they sound metal thrashing together.

Pretty clear that Elon is bipolar.  Most obvious explanation for his antics.

Pity that they didn’t make a bigger deal about it. I think some tests have gotten over 40mpg with the gm twins on the highway, which is impressive and frankly, the way it should be. If this mazda only gets advertised fuel economy, then it’s a joke. Rogue and Forester get that good without a diesel even.

Didn’t gm choose to not put any diesel branding at all on the exterior of these?  If that’s the case, you would be able to tell unless you heard it running.

Just be patient, these things go in cycles.  Someday more folks will be interested in sports cars again and it will make more sense to update the Z.  At least they haven’t stopeed offereing it altogether.  As a Z enthusiast who lived through the death of the Z32 and waited for what felt like forever for the 350Z to

Someday most cars will be electric, so then it will just be ordinary.  I want an electric car with a speedo and a charge gauge and that’s it!  Yeah not gonna happen, I know.

CVT is fine.  If it’s not a manual who cares?  Not like regular automatics are any fun to drive.  Might as well at least be technically interesting which a CVT definitely is.  Now if we could just get manufacturers to stop putting fake shift points in just to make auto journalists happy.  They serve no purpose!

Why does the thing need to be so gonzo overkill? Just make a truck that is reliable and useful, has a long range, and can easily do the speed limit. Acceleration on some electric cars borders on the absurd.

Actually, yeah the gas ones with the K-Jetronic were kind of a disaster, but they somehow lasted 15+ yrs.  The diesel engine is pretty sturdy.  But as for interiors and such, we lost count of how many door handles we replaced.

I love the old Rabbit pickups.  My family farm had 3 of them from around 1980 to 98 when we went out of business.  They were amazingly reliable and unreliable at the same time.  That doesn’t really make sense but if you had a rabbit, you would probably know.  One was an 81 with a diesel and I can’t see a picture with

“Ford says it’ll do zero to 60 mph in the mid-four second range, which, again, is hugely impressive for a four-cylinder car.”

C’mon toyota, you could have made the grill even bigger!

What I want to know is what the plan is when in 10 years (probably less) your janky screen/radio thing stops working. what do you do then? In the old days you could get a new DIN sized radio. Now what do you do? Throw out the car and get a new one? Or do you just say eff it and ignore the whole thing and listen to

Whoops I meant Tacoma!  Lol.

Now why is it too small for the US? To me it’s exactly what is needed. Tundra is way too big. Have you sat in one lately? They feel quite hurking. Too bad Nissan is going the same route of Toyota finally and making a lesser truck for the U.S. market. I was really hoping we would get a mostly un-molested NP300 but alas

We had a Datsun 1600 growing up and man did I love that car! So sad the day my folks sold it. My grandpa loved the thing as he had experience with a spitfire and marveled at the Datsun’s reliability.  Probably why he got into Z-cars and then passed that disease on to me.

I would extend this to bloody everything. Phones, computers, washers, dryers, etc. They all need to be relatively easily repairable. Repair manuals should all be readily available online and for little to no charge. It’s irresponsible for us to be making such disposable products in this day and age.

To each his own.  Fuel economy is dang impressive in impreza.  I don’t really notice it being that slow, but then again I don’t get it on the highway all that much.

Yeah but for a family car i just don’t care about any of that anymore, and I think I would not be in the minority. Maybe on here of course. The value of an impreza is really unbeatable.
