Sorry but it’s not underpowered. In my world any car that can do the speed limit is not underpowered. But i grew up driving my dad’s VW Rabbit diesel pickup which sometimes had an infinite 0-60 time. So I guess it’s relative.

I thought these things were mostly for boats where you can’t even get to the underside of the engine. I think you need to just get some ramps. I have rhino ramps and they are great. I also have a newer Subaru which has to be the easiest car to oil change ever.
Not seeing why you would get this over an Impreza. I guess it looks better, but so what? It’s quite a bit more expensive and no manual option on awd? Also Impreza gets a full 4mpg better mileage combined. Now I remember why I bought and impreza, nothing really touches it for value.
I feel the same way about my frontier. It’ll be 20 next year. I wish Nissan would hurry up on a new one. But then again I won’t be able to afford it.
I love old mercedes’s. We had a W115 growing up, a 220D. It was a very solidly constructed car physically. Like the sheet metal was thick and the doors had a nice feel to them. But reliability wise, it wasn’t all that great. It went through at least 2 motors in it’s lifetime. A couple transmissions I believe. Parts…
This truck still exists. It’s called the Nissan Frontier and is the least talked about, most legit truck available in America.
It’s not just spark plugs, everything with a V engine is usually more of a pain. Alternator, manifolds, etc. All harder to get at. Best thing is a 4cy in a car that also has a V6 option, usually plenty of room. Plus you’ve got less things to replace, injectors go bad? There are only 4 of them.
Jesus I’ve almost hit pedestrians before. Also I doubt you have kids.
Which would you rather change the spark plugs on? Nothing beats a 4cyl (esp in a rwd setup) for ease of fixing. Well unless you are talking about a porsche 944 or something.
Interesting. Not really related but I’ve noticed that virtually all cars today have a similar door handle design. It strikes me as odd, but everyone I point it out to thinks I’m crazy for noticing.
You are right about that. Should switch to some sort of knob situation like some hybrids have.
Yes, it’a an automatic. Who cares where the shifter is? Mounting in the console just takes up space.
Sorry man you gotta junk this thing. It’s not safe. Best part it out and be done with it.
If you are worried about reliability, just get the Frontier. Sure it’s old but so what it’s a truck. It’s got a double din receiver, so add any gizmos yourself.
I have very low standards. Any fwd with a stick can be really fun.
We rented a Versa Note once. Great little car, impressive gas mileage. I would love to trick one out with a stick shift. Now I have been to Houston though and driving a car that small there would give me pause. Everyone has huge SUVs! I saw so many brand new Armadas there. Maybe wait till those get cheap. They are…
People that poo-poo fwd maybe have never driven a good fwd car hard. I always did, then I drove my dad’s Sentra Spec-V in an autocross once and my mind was changed. They can be just as fun, just in a different way.
Never ever, ever get under a car supported by only a jack. Rule number one for all shade tree mechanics. Always use redundancy also.
I feel like they could have made the grill even bigger if they had tried.
Yeah I’ve always wanted to trick out a 2nd gen turbo.
