@terryvongsouthi: Think of the innocent robot life that they've wasted! We are just asking for a Cylon/Skynet uprisal.

@pettiblay: The Reventon is indeed pretty awesome, it looks like something out of a high budget sci-fi. Yeah it would turn my head. But it still seems like an aggressive derivation of the Gallardo, and I'd love to see them do something completely new.

Why does nobody design supercars this sexy anymore? Porsche, Aston, BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, even Lamborghini - nearly every new design from the past decade has been rounded down and averaged out to something resembling slightly less than boring. I see a new 911 on the street and I don't even care. Instead just a photo

The wristwatch industry just refuses to give up, don't they?

The lack of a 2.2 upgrades on the Galaxy S is, frankly, inexcusable. That phone should have been running 2.2 when it launched.

@trashk: The most major difference with 2.2 was speed. It's got the davlik JIT compiler to make apps and the OS run up to 400% faster, and the difference really is noticeable, especially on older hardware like the Droid.

@vel0city: That's the advantage of keeping both carriers simultaneously. If you decide not to switch, just cancel the new account. If you decide you do want to, transfer your number over before canceling the old one. At least in the US, number portability is the law, even on existing accounts.

@FriarNurgle: Gotta agree here. Verizon has much better coverage in my area but I use T-Mobile to save $40/month on the same plan. Sure I'd love to have coverage in the plains of rural Iowa, but I love the extra $480/year even more.

Same thing I tell anybody who ever wants to switch carriers: make use of that 30 day money-back guarantee. If you've got the cash to do it, even keep both carriers simultaneously. Use your phone a lot in that first month, but keep it pristine so they can't deny your return. If it turns out your new network doesn't

Same reason I didn't buy the iPhone on AT&T is the reason I won't buy it on Verizon: just can't afford their plan rates. I pay $55/mo for unlimited 3G and 500 talk minutes from my T-Mobile subsidiary and I can use any GSM phone I want. The coverage isn't as great as Verizon's, but the price makes it worth it.

@Jeb_Hoge: That actually makes a lot of sense. Though I wonder if the engineers even expected CD players to ever be in cars. The first one didn't appear until at least a decade later, it would have been some fairly forward thinking from an industry that resists exactly that.

In soviet russia—

@jethro1138: I think DSOTM was the only Floyd that ever officially got the 5.1 treatment, and yeah it is brilliant. I really love the Steely Dan albums most though. Scheiner is an amazing sonic engineer.

@headc4se: So, so truly frustrating.

Don't know what to think of either shows. But I know I still haven't forgiven Starz for cancelling Party Down.

@Lite: an adventurer is me!: Did you ever get into SACD/DVD-Audio when they were around? I really loved the format - not just for the 5.1 surround mixes, but those 24bit/96khz stereo masters were a special kind of beauty.

I've always wished there was an extra centimeter or so, or perhaps the data bands were shoved closer together, so the length would be 90 minutes and I would be able to burn nearly any two standard LP-length albums on a disc. You audio standards guys never think of that? That'd I'd be burning my own music a few decades

I really love the Hario Slim grinder you guys recommended for xmas. It produces better grinds than my Bodum Bistro. (Which for the price, is a damn good electric burr). Think I'm going to upgrade to that Skerton model you mention though - the major limitation of the Slim is that it can only grind two cups at a time.

@Toastie: It's an odd mix. Or maybe hair coloring. I've seen him in probably a dozen different things and I change my mind every time.
