On a related note, have any fellow CR48 owners noticed that video streaming has improved significantly lately? A video like the above used to get about 1fps tops. Now it's as smooth as on my desktop. The weird thing is, there haven't been any updates since the day the Chromebook showed up on my porch. So how would an

Until the beta period ends and they start shipping ChromeBooks to the public, I kind of feel ethically obligated to keep my CR48 at factory seeing as they were nice enough to send me a free computer and all. But I'll probably make this hack (or more likely, Ubuntu) once beta is over. Or I'll sell it. Yeah. Probably

I dunno about you, but when I saw the hashtag "#rocketporn", this was not was what I was expecting.

Wish this was on Netflix Instant. Nevertheless, DVD queue'd

@GirlLibrarian: I believe all British people eat fish & chips for 3 meals a day, so if they believe we all wear cowboy hats, I'm game.

@sabbon: Last seasons stories were sometimes yawn worthy but each one was enlivened by Smith & Gillan. Those two are fantastic! The dynamic between them reminds me of the best bits of Baker/Ward, though without the underlying resentment. I could totally get behind a "best Who duo ever" statement.

Is it just me or does the photo broken up like this creep dangerously close to uncanny valley territory? Lack of major features like a nose and position misalignment of the mouth give me a "look twice, shudder" feeling.

Because.

Simply does nothing on the Milestone from i-wireless (T-Mobile), no errors, no messages, just locks up the dialpad.

We've been teased that the phone has Gingerbread, but by Spring 2011, won't Android 207.3 be out? Any coolness in Sony's Android phones has been pushed entirely under the rug by their egregiously behind-the-curve release schedule.

I scrolled through the other illustrations on his site, they're very slick. Actually reminds me a lot of Sam Spratt's style.

This is the first Who trailer ever that actually has me excited for the next year. More coolness and less entirely stupid looking monsters. (why is it that all the previous teaser trailers have been mostly scenes from what turned out to be the worst episodes of the coming season?)

I wonder if they are counting sales through outlets other than Amazon.com - I bought mine from Target, for instance.

Didn't have any red/blue sharpies but dry-erase markers work just as well. And then you can wipe them off and reuse the CD jewel again!

@sega8800: And that's what I was saying. But only if the price is reasonable. 2.99/episode is unreasonable.

Weekly TV is a pretty good example of my habits in this regard. Episodes from ABC and FOX are 99 cents through Amazon or iTunes. I buy those and I (a) have them forever, (b) have no ads, (c) have them in 1080p. NBC, FX, and most other networks want $2.99/episode (for HD). I watch those shows on Hulu.

@zslane: If you don't have a Nielson box, I can't see how watching it live would even help much. I buy it on Amazon the day after because I don't get cable anymore. At least then my purchase/viewing gets a tick on a chart somewhere, however irrelevant that is.

@pen.suhl: I've been seeing ads for Qwest that offer 20mbps service at $45, locked in at that rate for 2 years - I'm tempted to check it out but I have had so much trouble with Qwest in the past that I don't know yet.

@Yeah!: I am paying $65/mo just for 11/1 internet. It's a pretty awful ripoff but better than the alternative.

@carvelo: Ugh that mistake bugs me to death. I feel like dropping a mention in the #corrections tag, but I don't want to be one of those pricks who uses the #corrections tag.
