As someone who also most often also plays as harried middle aged ladies in the Souls series, I do feel for you. My Bloodborne character looks exactly like Essie Davis.

That's the ending the studio tacked on, which sucks. The original is darker and much better but didn't leave room for a sequel so they axed it.
It's weird because the film plays with stuff that I love and find really freaky, like naturalistic acting, found footage, the woods, weird occult shit, urban legends, etc. But it just doesn't work for me. It's certainly watchable and I've seen it a couple times, but I never really feel scared, and I'm generally really…
I've never understood all the dislike for the first 4 films. People act like they lack self awareness or something but the series has always been pretty self-aware in regards to its level of quality. And the first few films were made during that weird period before crappy 2000s action filmmaking took over, so they're…
That expert might be me >_> Tokyo Drift is sort of the catalyst for the whole convoluted storyline in a way, because it had a mixed reception even though Han was really well liked, so they had to create a reason for Dom to meet Han and go to Japan for the ending cameo.
That's fair. And TBH I thought LotF had great level design, the combat and enemy design was just sorely lacking. I'll try to keep a more open mind.
I started to feel bad about it too! But commentators here assured me that cheesing your first run is okay because Dark Souls is so tough that first time around.
But it's so easy! I will spend like an hour trying to make a decent looking character in the other games and they still come out like crap once you leave the creator. I can spend like ten minutes in DS2's and end up with a character that looks like a model.
It took me years and multiple attempts. Got Demon's Souls when it was released, and while it was enjoyable I just wasn't in a good position to get really into it. Tried DS1 a couple times at a friends house, never got far. Eventually got myself DS2 and couldn't even beat the first tree boss (I had accidentally joined…
I don't think I've ever fought him properly because that cheese is just too good. Maybe one day.
I really like DS2's atmosphere and story as well. I think some of the perceived faults are purposeful elements of the game's design because it's meant to be a portal fantasy and that last aspect gets lost on most people, I think. There are a TON of Alice in Wonderland and Wizard of Oz allusions. It honestly bothers me…
My first run through Dark Souls 1 was cheesier than the metaphor I originally thought to write here. Poison and firebombs EVERYTHING. Fextralife tab open in my laptop beside me the whole way through. It was fun as hell though and super memorable, but I feel like I need to go back and play through it legit now.
Having the final Dark Souls boss ever be like feral Link is perfect when you consider how this series is basically M-rated Legend of Zelda a lot of the time.
There's that game The Surge coming out, but I don't have much faith in the devs after playing Lords of the Fallen.
What weapon are you using? She staggers easily, so if you use something moderately heavy you can stun her for some really dirty combos. I recommend the Tinitrus. Tinitirus 4eva
Hot take: Dark Souls 2 DLC is still the best.
I love Ebrieta because it feels the most like a Dark Souls boss. >_> It's big and has fairly telegraphed attacks. Not too hard though, I agree. It has some really cool projectile attacks as well. It straight up opens a portal to the cosmos so it can shoot energy beams at you!
When you get a good fight in with Lady Maria it feels incredible. Like you say, the choreography is very well done, it feels like a dance.
It's meant to be ambiguous and I believe the commonly accepted idea is that Frampt is just manipulating your character into sacrificing themselves in order to keep the flame going and extending their rein, where as Kaathe wants you to extinguish it, end the rein of Gwyn and Frampt and usher in the darkness so they can…
Dude, you read waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much into my comment if you think I was judging "literally every critic in the entire world who has an academic background" (Seriously, just think about how grandiose that idea is alone)
