Surprised to see so much hate for this one. Not that I expected people to like it, but I figured more people would view it as a "so bad it's good" type film. And the way Ignatiy describes the scare scenes and cinematography make it seem like the film is at least technically and stylistically accomplished.
I'll admit, it's closer than what I expected. It's almost sort of cool.
Nothing to do with the story but its actually really close to representing how it would look, something just kind of went wrong along the way.
This is the UK one I think:

It's always seemed to have a divided to positive reception in my eyes. It's got a 73 on RottenTomatoes and a 6.7 on IMDB. Pretty decent for a user reviews. And i think the "demons" theory works for a lot of people too.
1984 is Terminator vs. Temple of Doom.
I hope they write about Where Eagles Dare at some point. It's lesser known than a lot of the others but I think it holds up the best in comparison to a modern action film. Shootouts, car chases, explosions, twists, high altitude fist fights, Clint Eastwood dualwielding a pair of submachine guns. And it had a badass…
That's crazy talk! College Dropout is Kanye proving himself, back when he was hungry. It's the Benz and the backpack. It's 5 beats a day for 3 summers. It's built on ambition, just a different kind.
But that one isn't even as good as College Dropout.
I ended up watching Pod last night, the film from Thursday's Watch This. I agree a lot with what was stated there, fun movie, really suspenseful in the second half with some good scares, but the beginning could have been cut down a bit, even with it only being 75 minutes. Too much pointless arguing in the beginning…
I really loved Resolution too, maybe not as much as you though lol. Off-kilter was definitely the perfect way to describe it. It also reminded me of Coherence in how it managed to get across a pretty fantastical concept on a really low budget. Very smartly made. Glad to hear another fan of that found Pod enjoyable.
That got me so good. I think my favourite was when he was talking to the old guy who kept spinning the mirror around in his hands. I felt they were setting up that mirror for a jump scare and I kept waiting and it never came. Very nerve wracking!
My friend and I both have today off, so we're gonna continue playing Divinity: Original Sin. We finished Cyseal earlier, so we've still got a long way to go it seems. We've found that the overly comedic tone puts a damper on the narrative's sense of urgency, it's hard to care for anything going on when almost everyone…
I feel like I'm in 30 Rock whenever I read the little note at the bottom of the Univision articles.
I've never seen the channel as I live in Canada, but from what I understand, they bought the rights to over 200 Shaw Brothers films. That's a seriously respectable move.
I like the sound of this, I gotta watch it ASAP. Sounds similar to Resolution in how its an ultra low budget cabin in the woods type story. That movie was particularly good at getting a lot of suspense out of very little.
I totally agree, I'll always find evil dolls scary, no matter what. Just seeing dolls and puppets move in general, even outside of horror media, tends to creep me out, but I guess I was thinking about it in a more general audience kind of way. Like I imagine some people are tired of evil doll movies precisely because…
I think they're still creepy as fuck, but there's only so much mileage you can get out of "This thing isn't supposed to move on its own but it is" and I think it's been exhausted. It's why the Chucky movies so quickly turned into comedies. Hell, the first movie was already half way there, as if they knew it would get…
