Don't Look Now because It's Alive and Livid.
Don't Look Now because It's Alive and Livid.
I think a lot of the more outright campy ones just get slotted into the "horror comedy" field, which is in and of itself a surprisingly divisive genre, so they don't get advertised as such. Take Insidious for example, although not a horror comedy, it's a perfect example of how horror films can take themselves…
The Bourne films do a good job of holding the shot during pivotal moments. You get both the frantic energy, and the ability to pause momentarily and appreciate the choreography. It's definitely fast and I can see how it won't work for everyone, but by and large I think they helped start the trend only because they did…
Only the action becomes incomprehensible while sped up, the dialogue scenes were fine for each film, and IMO even Mad Max got disorienting at times during the action bits. And we all know what's happening because it's less than a year old and we've all seen it at least twice.
Reading through that newswire and then scrolling back up to the top to see R. Kelly peering at you over his glasses is just a little disturbing.
I haven't read anything but the first book, but I understand that they hop genres a lot, so it'll be interesting to see how Netflix deals with this as an on-going series. Wouldn't mind if they just kept up the cyberpunk detective thing tbqh.
IMO the horror genre was been steeped in irony from the get-go, and so most of them are winking at the audience in some respect. Obviously they're not all going full camp or "so bad it's good" but I think it's often pretty implicit that you're not supposed to be taking everything seriously.
My friend and I are nearing the end of the first area in Divinity: Original Sin. I really wish there were more co-op RPGs like this. D:OS is proof that it can work just fine on a console. I would love for this to be a trend.
I had a black IPA the other day and now I feel the need to go stock up. It's like a stout and an IPA in one, it's sorta like the perfect beer.
I sent you a PSN friend request last night!
It's funny to see that we all have the same problem with it. It sucks too because I have two friends that are always willing to co-op game, but they're so damn picky that's it's next to impossible to find anything.
I don't think it's that weird when you consider the mechanics of a game (that may not be the correct terminology here). Games often attempt to illustrate a conflict by defining it through a specific set of rules, and it's often easy to get that across through genre/blockbuster inspirations because those films often…
Since when was Jai Courtney unlikable? He's Varro. He's your boy. A true bro until the end.
The film goes out of its way to show how kids can get trapped in that kind of lifestyle too. Like you've got Moses living with his deadbeat uncle, the older drug dealers that pressure the younger generation, or the kids who look up to them and feel like they need to act that way to be cool too, and yet people will…
Cuz Lando is so obviously waaaaay cooler.
Because Gwendoline Christie rocks. But they have said she'll have a large role in the next film, so we should let the trilogy play out before judging.
Boba Fett sucks so hard, I'll never understand how he has a cult following. He doesn't even look cool enough to justify all of his failures.
Brett Ratner is too.
I want some news on Sense8 and Bloodline!
I love this movie so much. It has everything you could ask for in a good film, and it generates a ton of sympathy for its characters, which is something a lot of horror films lack. But the pacing is what really does it for me as it's so energetic and consistent. The visuals have a lot of colour too. It's a film that…
