I do research on the outcomes of Foster Care kids and I’m here to say: they need and deserve all the love in the world. I wish being a social science researcher paid millions so I could adopt many of them! I’m very very appreciative when I met decent (not every foster parent or adoptive parent is decent, many suck)…

I think the big difference is the involvement of law enforcement, the leaked pictures of Rihanna’s beat-up face, and the fact that both parties admitted and have spoken openly about the incident. And, sadly, it seems people care a lot more because the victim in this case is a huge star.
