They also didn't ask anyone for cash like a crowd funding campaign, so they owe us nothing other than eventual finished product. The game just got hyped as fuck.

It's a dude and his wife making the game - they didn't hire any PR firms when the money came rolling in as far as I know. Makes sense the game would go dark if the only "employees" are actively developing it.
