I’ve used one of these devices, there wasn’t any physical indication (pain/discomfort) that the device was on. It’s sending signals to your brain that you can’t perceive.
Ed answered your question. Also, his original statement was accurate... The FDA most certainly does not approve medical devices in the same way they do drugs. Yes, they approve them, but the way in which they approve them is very different.
