Luckily for Jeep, the buying public doesn’t care, hasn’t figured this out yet and probably wouldn’t care if they did figure it out. To most, a Jeep is a Jeep. I had a friend, who was riding in my Wrangler, ask in an earnest way if there are any differences in off-road capability between a Compass and a Wrangler. He

Agreed, the chopped roof throws off the proportions making it look too slab-sided. If there is one thing the Italians know it is how to design a beautiful car; very unlikely that it can be improved upon.

As a Phoenician I can confidently say that none of these incidents are even remotely unusual. I’ve had a gun brandished at me for accidentally cutting someone off in traffic. We aren’t known as the Florida of the West for nothing.

The problem is that it is almost impossible ro design an IFS that matches the performance and reliability of a solid axle for anything approaching a reasonable price. The Hummer H2 and possibly the Raptor come to mind but that’s it, and neither of those are or were affordable.

It seems that car dealerships are quick to latch on to perceived discount shortcuts and shore them up while simultaneously using them as a marketing opportunity.

I wear my grandfather’s Seiko that he wore in Vietnam. It’s not flashy or valuable, but it is a reminder of him and now that he has passed a reminder that time is fleeting. Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day.

I agree it’ll print money, but I suspect it’ll be a toughish looking crossover with off-road “tech” instread of actual off-road hardware. It'll be more of an accessory for well to do outdoorsy Instagram cosplayers than a truly rugged SUV.

Douchetanks indeed. The percentage of owners of high performance crossovers who also have a neck tattoo has to be off the charts high.

To be fair, does anyone really expect that a Range Rover can do this sort of thing? I mean I wouldn’t expect any other luxury crossover, like say a Lexus RX, to be capable of it either.

Honda’s award-winning SUV lineup

Yeah 31" tires are pretty small, especially considering the Colorado’s length. My guess is that 33" tires wouldn’t fit without modifying the sheet metal or that the suspension stong enough to handle the additional weight. Either way it's capability is severely compromised by being undertired.

There once was a man from Nantucket, he had too much baggage to stuff it, with a cargo hold so small he couldn't fit it all, and had to fly commerical and rough it.

It makes no sense. If BMW’s primary goal is speed it wouldn’t be churning out 538 different types of unnecessarily tall, ponderous, porky crossovers.

How about a used Lexus RC? Relatively zippy,  comfortable, and should very easily last 20 years.

I get frustrated with the long wheelbase on my stock JKU Rubicon...this is a whole new level of long wheelbase.

The BMW buyer should still be able to buy an extended factory warranty, that’s the real value in buying a CPO car anyways. Check the BMW enthusiast forums, there will be likely be dealerships willing to sell extended warranties for cheap, no need to buy it from the dealer you bought the car from.

Exactly, this is an ideal engine for businesses that need a cheap full sized truck that’ll mostly be driven in the city.

Yeah I don’t get it...not long ago the USPS was moaning about how it didn’t have enough business to survive and was hemorrhaging money. Now with Amazon, business is booming and they are moaning about that? Is there no pleasing these people?
