Given our current government maybe going back to being a colony wouldn’t be such a bad thing. Those goofy royals would have to go though.

For the record I didn’t click on this article out of genuine interest but instead to hurl insults at CUVs and their drivers and upvote other snarky comments, so subtract one from the view tally!

I don’t know where this myth about the Wrangler being awful on road comes from. I own a 2016 Rubicon and it is completely stable, comfortable and easy to drive around town and at 80mph on the highway. I can carry on a conversation easily somehow even with chunky MT tires and minimal insulation. Sure, it isn’t a Lexus

Trucks have become stupid expensive. $29k is pretty close to reasonable in the current market; the crew cab,  4x4, and diesel add a lot to the price.

I don’t either, at this point any new SUV on the market that isn’t a car-based crossover is a huge win. Calling an Everest a Bronco is much less of a travesty than calling a Fiat compact car a Cherokee.

My 2016 Wrangler is solidly built and has been trouble free but I wouldn’t touch any of Jeep’s franken-crossovers with a 10 foot pole.

So the Titanic was on fire before even leaving port? How is that even possible? Wouldn’t the smoke, heat, and flames be obvious to the crew and passengers the minute they stepped on board?

That’s hilarious, watching CBS on a grainy 8 inch CRT...talk about luxury!

Dude is like a real-life Kenny Powers

What are those boomerang things people put on cars in the ‘80's and why were they considered fancy?

Hyundai’s poor performance means he will have toupee with his job.

Does anyone know what VW is planning to do with the turned-in cars? Doubtful that they will be crushed for scrap, I imagine VW has a deal to sell them to used parts dealers. If this is the case they would obviously want them intact.

This won’t happen as long as there is a need to operate a control without looking directly at it. Touch screens are difficult to use and dangerous in this application.

Wow, Tacoma has a much higher class of criminal than Phoenix. We have package thieves too but they are usually meth heads cruising around neighborhoods on clapped out BMX bikes; not attractive, well dressed suburban women in late model crossovers.

Kacey Musgrave’s howliday classics.

How about a wench winch?

The sad thing is that he actually believes this “thinkpiece” will make people want to be like him instead of just making him seem like an insufferable tech-douche-bro.

Excellent summary of the sad state of SUV affairs. I finally replaced my 21 year old Bronco this year with a Wrangler Unlimited. The Wrangler and 4Runner are the only 2 vehicles on the market that even come close to approximating the Bronco’s functionality. With the lack of off road capable vehicles on the market

Fair point, but if you wanted a luxury car that trounces the Porsche in every conceivable measure an IS350 can be had for about $10k less. Again, people are paying for the badge and perceived prestige of owning a “Porsche.”
