Not true, most states simply require a certificate from the chassis manufacturer along with receipts for the rest of the parts to calculate the car’s value. The DMV will then affix a VIN and away you go. This is how replica Shelby Cobras and any number of other small scale manufacturers are able to stay in business.

I bought a 2016 JKU Rubicon about a month ago, awesome vehicle so far. I am shocked at how comfortable, quiet and easy to drive it is on the highway especially with the MT tires. Granted, my former vehicle was a stripper, lifted ‘96 Bronco so my standards for comfort arent that high. The interior is simple and

What a horrific inconvenience. I saw a woman this morning attempting to text and eat yogurt with a spoon while driving a 3 ton SUV at 60mph. She felt entitled to veer into the bike lane, drive completely erratically, and generally put everyone around her in cars, on bikes and on foot in an insane amount of danger. I

Out her in flyover country our parking spaces are as big as an NYC apartment!

That’s a hell of a way to run a railroad! (always wanted to say that)

Yeah, clearly the OSHA guy isn’t anywhere close by.

Because the joys of creating attention-seeking noise pollution and irritating the neighbors are worth any price.

Alas, most wives aren’t convinced unless the car is lifted an inch and a half.

To be fair even a Camry beat on night after night by coke-addled douchebags in Vegas would be in pretty sorry shape after 73k miles. Actually I’m surprised it is in as good of shape as it is especially given the indifferent maintenance and neglect by the rental company.

Agreed, a Cayenne may survive an occasional trip through the local mud hole but it isn’t built for tackling rugged trails on a regular basis, no CUV is.

I have a buddy who off roads a CRV, granted he can’t take it on anything too crazy but he his driving skills are amazing since he is forced to very carefully read the terrain and pick the best lines. Also, it is amazing the difference a decent set of AT tires makes.

Hopefully Toyota will leave out the hybrid drivetrains, over the top technology, and heavyweight complexity, we don’t need another NSX or GTR. I know manufacturers need a platform to show off their latest innovations but for a sports car light, fast, and simple is always the way to go.

What qualifies as a microaggression in Canada? A barrage of slightly irritated “soorrys?”

You seem to think this guy just woke up one morning and decided fighting Nazis would be a fulfilling and rewarding career choice. That’s not how it worked.

Climbing into a plane day after day to face the hell of Nazi bullets and flak knowing you only have a 30% chance of completing your tour alive is more than enough to earn this gentleman an extra degree of respect and deference IMHO.

The new pickup?

Nope, they are as popular as ever out West. Most dealerships usually have 5-10 Wranglers on the lot and maybe 15-20 Unlimited Wranglers. I recently bought an Unlimited after going back and forth between the two. Had I been in the market 20 years ago I would have bought a Cherokee.

Good point. Correct, the Liberty has IFS but it is still a legitimate SUV and is significantly more durable and capable than the current Cherokee.

The 4 door Wrangler aka the Unlimited fills the niche that the XJ Cherokee (and to a lesser extent the Liberty) used to, I don’t think the 2 door Wrangler is any less popular than it used to be.

A buddy’s lunatic nouveau riche mother in law bought one of these “because it is the safest vehicle money can buy.” This conclusion was drawn 100% from the way that it looks, no studies or crash tests were consulted. Maybe this gives some insight into the types of people who buy G Wagons.
