Mr. Sang indeed.

Waddle DIOOOOOOOOOOOO?!

Under its seemingly overwhelming hood is a game that is simple at its core: action-based combat, leveling up and a story. It also tasks players with doing lots of side-quests; the game’s entire narrative is built around mundane busy work. And yet, Fantasy Life was my favourite game last year and became a favourite

Whenever I beat the game, I make it a defined rule that I must beat all four dungeons again before facing the Skull Kid. I feel (personally) it adds a nice element of hope for the denizens of Termina, and while their issues may never be fully resolved and restored, it's the least I can do.

You're assuming the author did as many sidequests as you apparently did.

Great article. This show was light years ahead of its time.

I was actually going to consider playing Xenoblade Chronicles on the 3DS... but after hearing how long it is... 200+ hours on a handheld? Ick... 'm outta here

Yeah, I totally understand. Definitely not bad games. A lot of it ends up being, because of our prior experiences "been there, done that" which is no fault of the developers. But these developers have been at it for a while, so their point of view of what they should put out would be different from someone who's

lol... 'Mr.'... 'mid-life'...

I have to ask, do you have any favorite first lines in literature? I have a few. I actually rather like Xenoblade, and I feel like it has better writing than most JRPGs, but it's still not what I'd call a well-written or well-structured story.

Oh, woops, there's that 90 hours of my life that I dropped! Silly me.

If it takes 60 hours to get a big reveal then the game is really unnecessarily padded.

I thought Xenoblade Chronicles was one of the best games I've played, but if someone at hour 60 in a game doesn't feel like the experience has been worthwhile, I'd say at that point that that game obviously doesn't not have enough of a pull for that particular player. You never know exactly where a person is at in

So true Zarn. I think for me it boils down to as you said, being less tolerant to the characters and writing and of course, just experience and time spent with all these games over the years.

The thing is, for the games that come out that we may roll eyes at or have trouble investing time in, there's an up and
