It did not exist in the original DS1 (you couldn’t respec in DS1). A similar exploit was doable in DS2, though, since they added respec to that.
This is the kind of stuff you hope devs don’t patch out. C’mon, it’s a single-player game. This stuff makes it fun.

It was exhausting just spending a couple minutes reading the article about that family, I cannot imagine interacting with any of them.
I’m sure it’s hardly perfect, but I can say that I’ve never seen any since the policy change nor heard of it being on there. Some likely slips through the cracks briefly, but nothing that would make his story make a lick of sense given the specificity and that he’s claiming he clicked an ad.
They fill the same niche as talk show or late-night TV hosts did when I was growing up. People watch them because they know how to put on an engaging show. Anyone can play video games; some people can make it interesting to watch.
