Thanks for calling out the “talentless Hollywood exec move”.  It makes me think that some of Keanu’s career missteps are the result of some execs having the wrong ideas.  Similarly, attempts to make Ryan Reynolds a romantic lead when he’s clearly better in comedies and weird movies.

If the robber also takes part in the collectables reselling market they could already have a general idea of what’s valuable. Though I agree with popeadope that it’s possible the burglar has watched the owner’s streams for inside info.

Honestly, I’d be surprised if there isn’t an issue of What If? for that exact scenario.

His video reviews were one of the highlights of Kotaku for me. My personal favorite was his Death Stranding review. Him leaving Kotaku is unfortunate, but I’m glad he’s doing just fine with his own thing on YouTube (and I think he’s still doing game design work too).

For me, I think Ethan is exceedingly bland in a series that is overloaded with competition in that area. It feels like they decided his main personality traits were “has mold”, “has no face”, and “to be determined later”.

I’m honestly surprised most of these still have servers to shut down, so I guess good on EA for maintaining them for so long (though on the other hand I wouldn’t be surprised if they were relatively low cost and nobody bothered to shut them down until now). I think I accounted for time. “taking 50 percent longer” equates to 2/3 take for the same amount of time. Essentially, x=1.5 “hours” now, so 1 “hour” = 2/3x. I then multiplied that with 165/949, or 17.39%, for a total of 11.59%. I might have missed some other aspect they mentioned.

Yeah, a combination of variables could prove strongly indicate that a user isn’t truly where their VPN says, and sellers could use that to calculate a price. Users might still be price tourists for cheaper prices, but it wouldn’t be as low as actual locals in those countries.

By my admittedly loose calculations it sounds like the new amount of income is ~11% of the original. So it went from absolutely ridiculous return to moderate return. That sounds so horrible. /s

I’m not sure if they know it, but the original person’s post has a grain of truth, albeit surrounded by a thick layer of BS. They may have heard a few things and just completely blew them out of proportion. “Visuals are one of the first things done” is clearly wrong, but I could see how that is a few bad steps away…

That’s certainly a way to do it, and it’s definitely the most entertaining. Though for anyone that wants to get a better understanding on how triple a games are produced I’m pretty sure there’s plenty of info out there.
