Look, even before the NYC indoor smoking ban, you couldn’t smoke in the fucking. Metropolitan. Museum. of Art.

Smoking is gross. Indoor smoking is even more gross. Indoor smoking that ruins original art pieces and haute couture gowns people spent months making for these idiots is reprehensible.
I identify as queer, as do many friends of mine. There’s some debate about the use of the term, but, at least in my experience, it’s pretty marginal.
Critics are usually older and worried that it involves the appropriation of a slur and creates more ambiguous definitions of sexuality. Proponents argue that it provides…
“Actual gay people” damn, that’s... super unhelpful. People who identify as bisexual, or queer if bisexual doesn’t feel like the most accurate representation of who they are, (and also because we’ve historically been erased and excluded from the gay community!), aren’t like... some diet version of gay. If you don’t…
Yes, I’m “actually gay” and my other “actually gay” friends use the term almost exclusively.
“your viewpoint is based on activism and ideology and not evidence.”
Eh, idk if that’s accurate. I’m a lesbian, so is my girlfriend, and we both sometimes refer to ourselves as queer. I think the difference is mostly generational. All of the LGBTQ people I know who use/identify as queer are under 40.
Most of the people who use the term would have been called bisexual in the past. Most actual gay people I know (ie, the ones who were targeted with this slur in the first place) don’t use it as much.
I get where you’re coming from, you were having a different conversation than the rest of us and you were commenting on the video and her drug use (or lack thereof), but the article was specifically about Miley’s racism and her exploitation of Black culture. In that context what you said came off as racist, which is…
ok, reddit
Yeah, we should definitely look at one such notable instance of the statistically rare false accusation and “not rush to conclusions”, instead of looking at the COUNTLESS instances of someone with power, influence, and celebrity sexual assaulting someone and then lying about it.
Or maybe stop pretending that there’s…
No. I identify as “queer”.
Phaedra is disgusting. Hocus and I were talking about this the other day. Kandi’s reaction was to the lies perpetrated by Phaedra was enough to make me stop watching. Kandi looked so incredibly hurt, repulsed and traumatized upon finding this out. It wasn’t a lie. It was a gross and serious allegation. RHOA is so much…
She was acting like the STEREOTYPE of Blackness that white people like to put on and take off. Actual Black people know that we are not those caricatures.
That you didn’t think of it that way matters not. Those of us who are actually Black and see this kind of thing played out over and over again know exactly what she was doing. Not to mention that she blatantly said, in her own words, that she wanted her music to “sound Blacker.” Your cluelessness coupled with a…
Yeah, there’s the white-girl-trying-on-Blackness phase so many go through...
She talks about liking weed. It’s not like she was shooting up.
You guys always make excuses for people like her and turn them into the little helpless white girls who are never responsible for their own behavior. What’s next? Blame the black people around her for her behavior? It was obvious that she was hanging around the “wrong crowd” right?
Yeah, being around all of those black people and insisting that they make her “sound black” must have been really gross for her.
Still in yours eh?
