There was *plenty* to criticize about Season 4 that had nothing to do with gender or race.

While I wouldn’t rank it over S1, it is easily one of the more interesting seasons of television I’ve seen recently.

Ah, is this a This Is Us thing? I only know him from the shit god-awful Gentleman Broncos, the absolutely best thing ever The Knick, and guilty pleasure I’m Dying up Here.

He has a twenty year directing career with several Oscar and Golden Globe noms, I think he has chops. Not to mention he grew up around some of these characters.

Me: Why is this review better than most of late? I guess just because I have a somewhat personal connection with The Amazing Johnathan, in that I enjoyed (and remember) Ruckus, and saw him in Vegas once.

The deleted scenes on the DVD show the pair’s back stories, how they only rob houses in order to pay the hospital bills accrued on their previous failed burglaries in their decades-long career of crime. It’s a terrible, tragic circle of pain and debt, with hilarious consequences!
