I’m wondering if this has anything to do with NetherRealm using Ronda’s likeness for Cassie Cage without her permission. I recall reading about Ronda taking issue with it, but I never heard what the outcome was.

Has this been stated anywhere? There’s not much footage to go by in the announcement trailer, and the promotional image looks very much like the mobile release. (Mighty Morphin Red’s doing a power attack and Yellow Super Megaforce was called in as an assist.)

I’d rather nWay not make Battle for the Grid free to play. The micro” transactions in the mobile game are anything but. They expect you to pay $20 - $60 per character and their monthly subscription service is equally ridiculous. The login bonuses and drop rates also suck. I’ve been playing the game completely F2P sinc

I would absolutely love to see a Tokusatsu game patterned after Persona! I can’t believe I’ve never made this connection before either. There have been nods to the Super Sentai series in nearly every Persona game.

I wasn’t even aware there was a Game Gear version. I may need to pick this up if it’s significantly different from the Genesis release.

Your 7-year-old self was not wrong. I found the Game Gear release far more enjoyable than the SNES or Genesis versions. I’ve not played another beat-em-up quite like it either.

For those that don’t know, each stage is a small arena and you fight enemies off in waves. The combat is kept interesting by having the bosses

I’m glad somebody else digs the NES version of Tournament Fighters. It’s my favorite out of the three.

Fair enough, I’ve been there. I hope the meds help and you feel better soon!

I never really thought about how forgettable most of the boss fights are in the game. I like what little variety they add but I would love to see future games mix it up more.

I want a boss fight to show up in the middle of a regular level. I want to play a world that doesn’t end with a castle. I want an entire level

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic so please indulge me:

Where did you get the impression that Tim does not (absolutely) love 2D Mario games?

I hope Nintendo will throw some (free) post-release content at the game to sweeten the pot. More playable characters a la Kirby: Star Allies would be very much appreciated! I’d even be okay with just Blue Toad and Peach.

(Super Mario Advance 4:) Super Mario Bros. 3 is the best possible answer.

Great list! There are still many of those games that I need to play.

That said, I’d like to put in a good word for Mirror’s Edge. The game was flawed but the aesthetic and the gameplay were utterly unique. That and it taught me I could open doors using my forearm. I do that shit all of the time now with public

Actually, disregard my last comment. I can’t find anything that supports either claim. I could have sworn I read something about HL3 but I must be confusing it with another game.

I thought we got an unofficial confirmation of Half-Life 3 by Valve saying something to the effect of wanting to forego Episode 3 and just roll the events of it into a sequel.  Also, hasn’t Valve given a “when it’s done” response when asked about HL3?

When it comes to my grill, you have two options. You can either hose it down with pesticides, or you can suck it up and eat spider-flavored food.  I choose the latter.  Hope you like arachnid!

Mike, I can’t imagine what you’ve had to go through and what you will continue to go through, but I want you to know that your articles are a constant source of joy for me. Your toy reviews are always filled with such a sense of wonder that it reminds me that you can never be too old for something. Similarly, your

Chemical Plant Zone is what Steeldrumbands is playing during the 1st half of the live soundtrack for SMB 3. They realize their mistake after a few minutes and switch to Overworld 2.

The FF7 medley doesn’t do it for me but hearing SMB 3's “Overworld 2" played with steel drums sounds so perfect that I wonder if that is what Koji Kondo was shooting for when he composed the original. That said, steel drums are woefully underused in Sunshine’s soundtrack so I kind of doubt it.

I think you’re forgetting Double Dash which has 12 racers actively trying to kill you with only 2 actually trying to win.  It’s a miserable experience if you don’t have a 2nd player to offset the odds.
