I was hoping we’d get Leslie Grossman as One of the four, but Eleanor wouldn’t really be able to keep up her rude as the Architect, I guess.

She was carried on a stretcher into the trenches during the Great War to perform for the soldiers after she had her leg amputated! This woman GAVE NO FUCKS.
Thank you! It gets better with every viewing!
I wonder if any black AV club commenters who grew up as Missy Elliot fans would be willing to share why she connected with them?
I thought of your comment :)
Or grow up to do sissy shit like this:
I mean god forbid he turn out to be some weak little ballet sissy...
I’m finding that many people that claim the MeToo movement “goes too far” have not been on the receiving end of unwelcome and harassing treatment, and they have not been in the humiliating position where the receiver has to eat shit, say nothing, smile and try to gtfo without losing a job, friend, co-worker, etc.
I mean, what do you consider a celebrity in the context of Youtube? Someone who is successful? Because I subscribe to a number of channels (am 36) and while I do have some trash taste I also think the difference between traditional media (film and television) and new media (youtube, etc.) has grown *really* thin.
I am a “real” adult and I watch vlogging channels, and I can think of dozens of friends, co-workers and family members who do so as well. There are tons of high quality content creators on YouTube, it’s not just the Paul brothers and beauty guru drama.
There’s a wide range of “YouTube celebrities.” My 40-year-old husband subscribes to a bunch of motorsports and engineering accounts, and will watch their shows pretty regularly. I super enjoy Hannah Hart and as a result of seeing a handful of “My Drunk Kitchen” episodes, bought her memoir. Just like everything else,…
I’m 36 and I’ve never found it funny. I decided long ago that I don’t really want to watch sitcoms of terrible people being terrible (nope, not really into Always Sunny either). Give me the Parks and Rec, Brooklyn 99 brand of sitcom, with fundamentally good people doing goofy shit.
Lol! I haven’t seen it either. Hulu is on pause at my house right now and it may stay that way. I made my remarks for the same general reason as you, namely that I mostly wanted to have a discussion about how a lot of showrunners in recent memory seem to hold their audiences in contempt. More often than not they…
Why are you so angry? People are entitled to their own opinion, you can disagree of course and stay polite at the same time. Maybe you need to grow up.
I agree with you. I think these days most (or at least like...40%) of people agree that Monica and Chandler’s relatively drama-free relationship and marriage were more interesting and satisfying than Rachel/Ross. One of Criminal Minds’ best continuing sub-arcs is the successful marriage of JJ and Will.
Agreed. Another one... Roswell....and another Big Bang Theory... And another sailor moon lol. But seriously. So many good shows with healthy happy couples in it! That is a shitty excuse to kill him off. But if that was his wish and he just didn't want him in the show anymore, he could have just been off with him on…
Nick and Nora. Just sayin’. Still a hoot after all these years, and the mysteries were entertaining too. The only thing missing was a solid roster of recurring secondary characters, a gift VM has/d in spades. These pretentious showrunners with delusions of artistic grandeur forget that their audience wants to have fun…
Joule thief!
I can’t stand it! I know you planned it!
That was my thought. There are thousands of movies which show a relationship not working out (most of the most famous films of all time in fact)- but the vast majority of them aren’t comedies, because it’s hard to make that movie work. You have to have two appealing people who have enough zing together that they make…
