Lehane as a writer is tough to match onscreen because his internal-monologue writing is so much better than his (also pretty great) plotting.

I loved this book and it honestly seems like Affleck loves Lehane too much to screw up adaptations of him, so I'm pretty jazzed for this.

And the fact that they aged up Joe to match Affleck kind of leaves them unable to.

To paraphrase Mr. Pink, this looks like a George V. Higgins adaptation without George V. Higgins.

I'm not sure why they added the first chunk of Shameless and then what remains of it a bit later, but as someone who fell in love with it via Netflix, I'm not complaining.
