Just watched a trailer - looks perfect! Beautiful film. I hadn't heard of it before, thanks for the suggestion!

I can't show anything above a UK age 12 (PG13 I think in the US, although some PG13 stuff seems to be rated 15 over here). The Miyizaki films are great, thanks for the suggestion!

I think they'd be fine with the content of the films, but unfortunately the school I'm in wouldn't agree. The class is 13, so I can't show anything over a UK age 12 rating (PG-13 in the states I guess).

GREAT idea - how could I forget Whale Rider! Thanks!

Just found some clips on YouTube - looks like a really sweet film, thanks!

Help people!
I have a class of 13 yr old girls that I want to show a film to - I want it to have a positive female non-white non-Christian main character, and I'm really struggling to find one.
I teach a religion class in a Catholic school, and the class is 90% white Catholic students and 5 South Asian Muslim students.

Burn her!

Ugh, gads, that response. What a condescending cop out.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad - it sounds like you have some lovely memories with him though. Thanks for sharing.

You did the right thing. It would have been selfish to keep your pet alive and in pain just so you could have them a little longer. It's an awful choice but you did the right thing. Take comfort in your happy memories and know that you gave your dog a great life and a loving home for ten years :)

God damn that man is pretty when he cries.

Now playing

Have you seen this? It sums up that film (which doesn't exist) pretty well (although I do love blond Michael Fassbender a little too much).

And Prometheus. That never happened either.

Aaaand now I'm watching Aliens. Ripley's been asleep for 57 years!!

I think I got it from a Terry Pratchett novel :)

Eccleston is so creepy in that! Have you seen him in Shallow Grave?
Also points for Cillian Murphy in 28 Days Later! I once saw him in a pub in Dublin and he has the most eerily perfect skin.

My boyfriend made me watch Big Trouble in Little China the other day. They just don't make movies that balls-out insane these days.

Guy beard gaps are the most random thing. I have a friend who grows a fantastic giant bushy beard (seriously - it looks like he's chewing a badger) except for one perfectly square patch on his left cheek. Is there any reason for them?

Eeeeeewww that's so gross I love it!

I think Sleepless in Seattle is on there!
