You’d think someone building this web app would include a check to ask the participant, “Hey, you didn’t pick a champion,” if they try to file without one. But given Yahoo’s insistence on autoplaying the fuck out of every video, plus a DFS takeover ad on every front-page visit, I don’t think they really give a crap

Does Yahoo’s not validate your bracket and say “Hey this isn’t complete” at some point before they lock? I think even the NCAA’s does that.

If you have followed almost anything Yahoo has ever tried to do (IM, chat rooms, games, mail), this would not surprise you.

Wait - you’re telling me Yahoo makes you put in a score and then pick a winner separately? That makes no sense, theoretically you could pick Villanova to win yet have a final score of Villanova 62 North Carolina 65?

The reality of that situation is - if Bassett isn’t where she is on that play - that pass goes right to the feet of the attacking Japanese forward making a run for open space. That player - if the ball got to her feet - was going to have a fantastic opportunity to score. Bassett did all she could do - she had to

You’re a moron. 99/100 center backs try to put that same ball over the top of their own net, because it’s the right fucking play. If you fuck up, you fuck up, but at least it wasn’t some fancy striker that beat you. Lose of your own accord rather than letting an opponent beat you is kinda what a central defender is

The Japanese players gleefully celebrating on the field caught me aback - normally when teams win on a fluke they high-tail it back to the dressing rooms.

Yeah. If the offensive player had made the exact same touch on the ball, we’d all be celebrating the brilliant finish on Japan’s late miracle goal. Since it was a tactically sound decision made by a defender in a tough position, it’s just ugh. Gross way to end, and I don’t know how well I’d be able to celebrate if I’d

It wasn’t just an own goal - it was a freak own goal where the player made the right decision and was punished by a crappy touch. It’s usually easier to understand when a player makes a mental mistake rather than a physical one.

I dunno about one in a million that it’s an OG - but that crossbar hit, oh man does that make it even worse. Right move, bad outcome. I’m not sure that I’d even feel bad in that situation, (tried my best mentality) but then again when I score OGs I’m only playing intramurals.

I mean, the penalty certainly doesn’t fit the crime, and I say this is someone who thinks it is absolutely hilarious that Brady might miss four games and that Kraft and Goodell are fracturing over it, but can you honestly believe that either Brady, Kraft, or both are not lying?

I can’t decide if my favorite part is the Pats continuing to keep this up or the batshit fans defending them to almost embarrassing levels

There are really no words to properly describe a human being that would either 1) Write that, or 2) Read that and say “Yep, sounds good. Let’s go with it.”

So, does Tom Brady not have a publicist? Shouldn’t this person be telling him it’s time to let the charade go?

This is like Christmas come early. I honestly don’t know how they could have made this worse. They look dumber, and more guilty, than ever.

I don't get why the they don't just make the PAT automatic, unless you want to go for two. I had this on an arena football video game about 10 years ago, and it was great. I feel like there must be something disqualifying about this option, because nobody mentions it.

It's the fault of the NFL in this case. Letting teams control their own footballs is just asking for trouble, just like it would make no sense to let each major league pitcher keep custody of the baseballs he's going to use in the game.

They could have cut him back in April. They didn't do jack.

Everyone in that organization should be gutted. Owner should sell the team; Harbaugh should be canned. Their punishment made the NFL's punishment look harsh. Because they didn't punish Ray Rice at all.
