Totally agree that it is awesome. Totally agree that it is dumb people are eschewing cars for SUVs. Disagree about the fundamental superiority of suicide doors.
Suicide doors ARE better. Think about how we exit a car: pivot on butt, swing feet out. A suicide door puts the widest opening where we need it most: the feet!

But that is really just a complaint that you need a smaller final gear. Right? I mean, if you had a 6th gear that was the same size as your current 5th you would have the same problem, you just shifted an extra time to get there.
What you really need is a 1-thru-4 built for acceleration, and a 5th that is small enough

Thank you! I’ve been saying that for years! Especially after going from my ‘02 Camaro to a ‘08 CTS. The extra gear didn’t seem to offer anything but more shifting (which slows you down in a drag, puts more wear on a clutch).
And I would be fine with it if the final gear (“top gear” anybody?) was tiny for highway

Mustangle: (n) “Muh-stang-gul”; A mostly american phenomenon whereby those with limited automotive creativity and skill lose control of their Fords and crash into one another. syn: boondoggle of Mustangs.

If you drink a glass of water every time you urinate you will never be hungover. Works every time.

Go ahead, come for my manual,
I’ll give you the burnt rubber first!

What can a guy with, say ... 30,000 dollars do?
(Manual tranny, RWD, fits 3 kids and a dog) (wife wont let us move to Japan or Europe, says “better cars” isn’t a good reason)

So the American “I need a huge truck to fit my fatness, but I’m too fat to climb into my huge truck” saga continues ...?

Sort of a bizarre find. That I kind of also want.
This is a front engine, RWD, manual transmission import from 91-97 that still sells for $5K - $12K used. Parts are probably impossible?
Definitely a strange little enthusiast vehicle. I wonder if it so rare that cost of ownership makes it a real pain in the butt compared

So, insider DC metro’er here. I used to live close to the city, then had kids and moved to an exurb. Manassas area, specifically. It’s about 30 miles from the true city/metro area, and that adds up to about 2 hours of travel. It’s a pain. But with all of the supposed commuter options (busses, trains, metro-trains, HOV

“Eight Speed Auto” and “cool” have never gone together. And never will.
No third pedal, no buy.

Why don’t manufacturers use words like “manual transmission, RWD, V8" anymore....?

Unpopular opinion here: What about those of us who can drive and text safely? If phone use really was this big boogie man then how do you explain all the non-phone related crashes? The real problem is that some (many) people cannot operate ANY device properly. We should raise the hurdle for driving licenses to keep

Third row seats. Third pedal?

That is a major problem with Chinese Communism: any company is (can be) essentially an arm of the state. And they’ve been caught red handed putting backdoors into hardware for exactly that reason. So why would anyone trust them?

Wasn’t Nokia working on something similar a decade ago? I always wondered what happened to that.
Also - what is the effect of a human body standing inbetween the transmitter and device? Boiling blood? Cancer? Blocked signal?

Good. Robert Keeling solved AGW in 1978 and these oily buggers have been working tirelessly to brainwash people ever since. Use some of that oil to burn these companies to the ground! (metaphorically, of course, violence is wrong)

So - loads of FWD and automatic transmission?

“proved to studios and audiences that a film very directly pulled from comic books could be a force to be reckoned with.”

This.
The rest, I am not so sure about. And you said that about Bryan Singer’s Xmen, which I don’t think is true of that film anyway. I think it started with IronMan. Marvel figured out that movies
