@dataPOG: the good ole days were nice but Cobra Ravens were most certainly made out of plastic, like everything in the Joe universe

@ABSORB: @Mrb00st: Because Eagle Talon's made Plymouth Lasers look (and sound good).

Hasbro has all three of these entries beat. See "The Thunder Machine."

Not nearly as cool with Cobra Ravens.

@pauljones: i almost bought that exact car (i.e. six-speed, AWD x-type wagon) ... solid under the radar car that's fun to drive and can fit my little one and his stuff.

@jark: Nice one. Totally forgot about the Kia Elan. Daewoo recently got in on this action too. See attached.

How about an entire brand ... Geo.

@rawtoast: those were the good old Saabaru days. What the f was going on at GM back then?

Saturn Astra. What was the point?

My wife's is also growing at a similar rate but I don't appear to be enjoying the benefits of "feature bloat" - strike that - she does have two brand new airbags, which are nice - very nice.

@Bonhomme7h: I might also prefer that one over my choice.

Nice car but at that price I would take this one [www.steelwings.com] I've seen it in person and it's a beauty.

The Whole Enchilada.

The carbon fiber a-pillar from the Lexus LFA is also quite incredible. John Kay [en.wikipedia.org] would have been impressed.

Folding hardtops in general, but the current generation MX-5's easily takes the cake as the most incredible. Its a fantastic and beautiful piece of engineering. Takes no more space then the original soft top, only 12 seconds to deploy, and adds minimal weight. It's the ninja of automotive convertible tops. Plus

@SantaRita: Last generation Cougar. Ford only in Europe.

Except for the last two, this list reads more like Mercury's greatest hits. Not cars I would ever own ... ok maybe a Mercury LN7 with rotary wheels ... but each was kinda unique in its own crappy way.

This bothers me and a few tears will be shed. Not sure why. Maybe because both car brands that my grandfathers loved are gone.
