I agree the show hasn’t set up Team Green as the “good guys,” especially given how Aegon’s sins and potential as a ruler compared to Rhaenyra’s in season 1. Which is an interesting choice, because I think there’s a good argument to be made for Team Green.

Aegon was most definitely grieving over his dead son. If anything, the show took great pains to show that Aegon has surprising layers to him. Yes, he’s impetuous, ill tempered and a brat, but he also loves his children and seems to have actual engagement in ruling - albeit in his own way.

It’s interesting because he

Great performances this episode, especially from Glynn-Carney, Ifans, and Saban. And that climactic duel between the twins was brutal in every way.

We’re 100% getting Sheepstealer, given how much Nettles featured in the Dance in Fire and Blood

The thing about this show/book is that everyone gets theirs eventually. Usually brutally.

Also from Tywin regarding that opening scene: “Anyone who needs to say ‘I am the king’ is no king.”

I sense Mysaria and Rhaenyra’s grudging respect for one another could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Or, at the very least, a blossoming alliance. Anyone else?

You know, considering they are twins who protect royals, you’d think Team Black (or Green if roles were reversed) would have come up with some kind of code word to prevent this exact infiltration scenario. Or like, at least make him cut his hair differently.

I see him as Tywin with way less money and know-how. He wants to control every little thing but is much worse at it.

Rhys Ifans deserves an Emmy for his work in this episode. Absolutely masterful.

Subtitles said it was Baela

I don’t understand what you mean about where is Helaena? She had a whole conversation with her mother and then was right there beside her in the wagon for Jaehaerys’s funeral.

No, that was definitely Baela talking with Jace. Rhaena is the twin with dreadlocks.

How does that douchebag Cole continue to fail UP so consistently?

How does that douchebag Cole continue to fail UP so consistently?

He’s a less charismatic Margaery Tyrell. He’s a manipulator out for himself who looks for the best outcomes within his manipulations.

Otto is a snake but he knows good PR.  He basically did the Emmett Till funeral and its a smart choice.

Corlys doesn't seem distant, he's just being vague to make a sex joke with his wife.

When Aegon sacked Otto and named Ser Criston hand, I was immediately reminded of Tywin’s words when Joffrey beheaded Ned Stark: “Madness. Madness and stupidity.”

Understandable, but you confused the twins.
