Alberta is art and music, amazing food, stunning landscapes, whitewater paddling and deep powder skiing. It’s stream fishing, hiking, and camping in some of the prettiest places. It’s charitable-giving and volunteering.

I think you’re missing the nuance where the BLM movement is sick of seeing black people murdered, treated as a lesser human, etc. just because of their skin color. Peaceful methods were attempted, only to have people like Mike Pence get all butthurt and leave when kneeling during the national anthem.

Engaging protestors with the military came close enough to a reality in 2020 and I would hate to see the idea of this being desired or even allowed go any farther than it…

I just posted above: I once got tear-gassed for sitting in a park, protesting old growth forest logging. We didn’t cost billions of dollars in lost commerce. We weren’t demanding the heads of government officials. We weren’t even in the way or clogging up roads. Just sitting and standing with signs.

Not really fair to just call them “Christians”. They are a minority part of Christianity in the US, the fundamentalist/evangelical part that is actually not fundamentalist at all. It includes the “Prosperity Gospel” churches whose message is also the opposite of any messages of Jesus.
