The city where the shipyard is located decided they like tax revenue and local employment more than they like not temporarily dismantling part of a bridge. That’s the entire story. But, rich people are evil, so everything they touch is tainted.

My guess is that the masts are going to be crewless and/or heavily automated, which means you’d need a shipyard’s facilities to mount it. This is no run of the mill sailboat.
Being bald/balding is nothing to be ashamed of regardless of gender or status. Don’t be a dick, Andy.
Wind resistance increases with the square of speed, so a design that might create huge amounts of resistance at higher speeds could create negligible amounts of resistance at low speeds.
Diesel Brothers!
Given how many lawyers Bezos and co likely have, they’re not going to come out and say “hell yeah we’re over-charging this asshat by 3x” but I can fairly well guarantee no-one at any point in the chain has been exactly under-quoting for this work - if the city, the bridge, the historical society / university history…
I agree with you. Some of these comments are hilarious. As if a professional experienced maritime builder just forgot how large the yacht would be and didn’t figure how to convey it to the sea. This yacht was ordered years ago. The pros and cons, as well as alternate methods of construction completion, were decided…
That’s what you get for making a logical and well-reasoned point on this website!
Super-rich guy paying to have a bridge modified for a few days and re-building it after the fact with governmental approval does not equal a Nazi invasion and attempted extermination of a race of people.
And back then, the Queen wasn’t the sovereign...
The point was never the mandates, the “mandates” were just the cover, the “hood” as it were for the real intentions behind all of this. All these people are just PPCers, and Maverick people, a small fractional % of the population. It is not the “vast majority of the country” it might be the vast majority of people who…
Oh, they’d find a way. PPA gonna get it’s money!
TBH, as a Canadian I never understood the joke that Canadians were overly polite. Where does it even come from? Canada really is the United-States hat.
“The protests are being supported by the vast majority of the country.”
“The English colonies in Canada did not join the Revolutionaries’ cause back then the Queen of England was considered the sovereign of the country.”
People can’t eat history. That’s a LOT of money to turn away from the local economy to stand on principle.
Just FYI, this bridge is not in commission.
Pretty sure you got the wrong guy. He’s be hyper against the protests.
I have zero issues with conspicuous consumption. That yacht builder likely used hundreds of workers for years, plus all the suppliers for vessel parts, all hiring people and creating commerce for the region. I’d have a bigger issue if he just built a big freakin vault under his house and filled it with billions of…
