They’re probably using some tiny slits you can’t see. Makes me think of the Dyson hand dryers you see in high volume areas.

I’m guessing they shoved it over there since you have to look away from the road to check it in any other car. At least this way, they can lower/shrink the dash a bit and perhaps give you better visibility or space or something? Idk.

I mean... I guess they could have tried to go after some Cobalt 60 or something, but... Being in the same room with the stuff will end you. If you’re trying to make a dirty bomb, ideally you don’t die to your creation before you set it off.

Would people actually give into demands like that? I mean, sure they’re your family and all, but... Giving away nuclear material to suspicious parties is pretty damn high on the “things to never do” list.

I suppose the ideal solution would be to just generate a new family name for each nuclear family and do away with the patriarchal naming system we have altogether, but when you make money with your byline, things get a whole lot more complicated. I don’t know that there is a good solution there. Should we just have it

Wow... So they’re basically trying to get rid of the temp license system that actually lets new businesses compete by handling their own initial sales. That’s... I don’t know if you can get more anticompetitive than that...

If we ignore dealerships being effectively evil, you’re still left with the fact that they’re a middleman, an extra link in the chain that’s trying to make a profit. Buying directly from the manufacturer cuts out a layer, allowing overall price to drop which is better for the consumer.

So... What would it do? I see no sensor package or weapons systems. Is this looking to replace the Predator drones? Would it be a pack mule? Sensor platform? I’m just curious what it would do.

Well, he was throwing water around on the ground...

To be fair though, they can’t fight us without triggering World War III. The more realistic concern is them selling the tech to rogue nations without nukes that we would realistically fight.

On the one hand, the tech involved is awesome, but on the other hand, it’s tragic that even after the cold war we’re spending so much money on defense. The major powers can’t go to war without risking WWIII, so it just seems sad to need this since in practice it’ll almost certainly only be used against rogue nations

I humbly submit the following...

This is making me really hope a future version has an IR camera feeding into an edge detection algorithm that can overlay that on the color image. Would be incredibly useful for night driving.

Cyberwarfare between the superpowers would be monumentally stupid and would effectively trigger world war three. Yes, China could knock out our power grid and destroy our economy, but we could do the same to them. With the world’s two largest economies out of commission (and the collateral damage of such powerful

I’m not too sure of that. If nothing else, the idea that our civilization was great and could do things on a scale that seems impossible is going to survive. They might think they’re gods, but they might also just think they were our kings, which they basically were.

Let’s say we build it out in the middle of the desert to make it truly last for the ages, we bomb ourselves back to the stone age, and then our descendants stumble across this thousands of years in the future. What would they even think? I suspect they’d think it was supposed to do something, probably something very

I’ve introduced two girlfriends to Star Wars. Both of them squee’d whenever there were Ewoks on-screen. Call me selfish, but being alone in the dark with one’s girlfriend after watching a movie series is far more pleasant if she really liked the second half of it.

I worked on the Volvo safety systems four years ago and even then the running joke internally was that the system was totally capable of all highway driving (and doing so better than a human), but no one wanted to get hit by the inevitable lawsuit of screwing it up yet. Since then, the technology has progressed a good

The odd thing about Sanders is that while Republicans may instinctively flinch away from him, everyone I’ve talked to is actually totally okay with his economic policy once it’s explained to them. Sanders is a known factor. Even if you disagree with his beliefs, you can be sure he’s doing them because he personally

Clinton, if elected, would be trusted by no one outside her fan club and the NRA would do everything in its power to stop her. It would likely devolve into political bickering without much progress being made on any front. Eventually a law would be passed, but it would probably be largely ineffectual.
