One of the warrants they were serving was on the guy that lived there for a domestic violence assault charge she filed against him. I’m not sure that “just don’t serve warrants, then” is a reasonable takeaway from this scenario, even given how little we currently know.

Depends on whether and to what extent they announced themselves as police first, I think. But I am not a defense attorney, tbh, and even given that caveat I’m not sure that “failure to announce” would pave the way for shooting at them 7 hours later, without some kind of incredibly extenuating fact pattern.
