Cook-Out! I don't think it's everywhere in the state— you're going to have a bit of a desert between the Triangle area and Wilmington— but if you're in a town that has one, you owe it to yourself. 6 bucks for a BBQ sandwich, hushpuppies, corndog, and milkshake.

If #2 does not refer to Seven, I will buy a hat and eat it.

Damn, dude, I'm sorry to hear that.

Hell yeah. The Eastern's grown on me over the years, but that Western stuff is where my heart is. Sometimes I go a little wild-eyed and make it with Cheerwine.

In NC, we frequently just use "barbecue" only as the specific term for chopped, slow-smoked pork, often specifically with a vinegar sauce— which has always seemed pretty silly to me, but hey, it's probably my state's best contribution to cuisine. We also have probably one of the only fast foood chains in the world

Charlotte NC, Queen City represent. We got lotsa great food (both local and from our big immigrant populations), the best Asian grocery I've ever seen, and it's not torture to catch an obscure movie or a good concert. I used to hate this city but I've really developed a sense of pride (cue the Onion article; "Area Man

Seconding the recommendation on Galaxy. I'm not as deep into Mario as other people, but I'd argue that Galaxy's the best in the series and maybe the best 3D platformer ever.

God, that remains one of the best behind-the-scenes stories in TV history.

I believe you mean Fant4stic.

Rizzo's a really solid cast member in Treasure Island and Christmas Carol. Christmas especially pairs him and Gonzo really well as our narrators.

The security robot wanted to die and become as a god.

I'd say Corman myself, but Romero is certainly competitive. Most of the no-budget indie filmmakers I've met are bigger Romero buffs though, so I'll defer to them.

Exact same experience here. It was fucking hilarious in the theater, especially since we had some of the crew and the Man in the Yellow Jacket on hand sharing stories about the filming. Probably the best filmgoing experience of my teenage years.

She's really racist, though.

Like about how nature is good, or maybe about how childhood is sad sometimes.

Oh yeah, it's just a joke based around the fact that they put butter on those sandwiches.

That was "skeeze" before autocorrect, but I think I'm gonna leave it. There's a poetry to it.

Nah, one time I was waiting outside the liquor store for it to open, and the manager was late, so I got breakfast at the KFC next door. That's a fast food low point.

I will also vouch for pozole. One of the first dishes I learned to cook beyond a basic stir fry, and damn is it good for a hot summer day.
