Can I just say once more how happy I am to not have a kid? I can happily ignore the judgements on my poor life choices without having to worry about everybody’s judgement on ruining a little kid’s life.

Stellaris did something similar to this by having rogue AI create their own civilization. There are events in the game that allow the player to live in peaceful co-existence with the AI but if the player opts to trash diplomacy, that AI will become permanently hostile towards the player.
