@Agumen: I think you're being a little bit too narrow with your definition of the glass ceiling. In a sport, a person advances through the ranks to become a top player, just as they would in other fields. Women and men may not compete with each other directly on the court, but women have had to fight to receive

That's great, but I'm still not over that NYTimes op-ed she wrote.

@ellaesther: No problem. I get what you're saying. You can't change minds by forming what is effectively an echo chamber. However, while I think it's important to be engaging and persuasive, I also think it's important to challenge oneself, even if you do end up feeling embarrassed or uncomfortable.

I agree with the chorus of people saying that the "worst comment of the day" wasn't so bad, but I think we have to be careful with the whole "she didn't mean it!"defenses. I have heard some incredibly offensive and hurtful statements made by people who truly meant no harm. Their intentions don't make their

I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but this photo does nothing for me. The shininess is rather alarming (like he's been sprayed with Pam!), and I don't understand what he is doing with the rope.

@GinaRomantica: I was about to say the exact same thing! I was under the impression that she referred to herself that way once as a joke, and that the italian and british media has picked up on it as a form of slut shaming.

I really, really didn't like the Newsweek article, and I'm not feeling the Oprah hate at all. On the one hand, I totally agree that some of the pseudoscientific and spiritual advice is nonsense, and that some of it is potentially dangerous (e.g Jenny McCarthy).

@gherkinfiend: You beat me to it!! I love the MAC Paints! I'm black, so I use the tube in structure brown. Works great as a primer and keeps my shadow and liner firmly in place.

I read the linked essay about how she loves her husband more than her kids and she sounds kind of insufferable. Why does she even feel a need to say that she loves one more than the other? I don't see much point to it, besides firing another shot in the (even more insufferable) "mommy wars," and trying to make

@whynotshesaid: I was going to say the same thing. It sounds terrible, but I'm really over Amy Winehouse. There were some clever songs on Frank, and I really really liked Back to Black, but I feel like Mark Ronson and the dap kings had just as much to do with that album being great as she did.

Maybe that Judge Judy clip from a few days ago is still fresh in my head, but I would resort to purse snatching to get my hands on that bag!!

@Grim Reaper of the Forest: Clearly she is putting all of her energy into her career in sad attempt compensate for her baby making failure.

This is the eighth year the zoo has tried to breed Mei Xiang.

"Rachel Lehmann-Haupt writes in this week's Newsweek of HER decision to freeze HER eggs - and of critics who say the practice is bad for women."

@Mama Penguino: I am really sorry for what you are going through, and I can imagine that being put under such a microscope would make anyone feel like they are being judged.

@misspell: I agree that her comments are incredibly objectifying. I don't want to be too hard on the initial poster because she is only 19. Still, just because it's not intentional doesn't mean it's not racist.
