I find it VERY hard to believe that Apple had the App Store in mind for more than 6-9 months before it debuted. Think about how against the idea of additional apps beyond the stock apps they were. Think about how hard they pushed web apps to be the new standard when they launched the original iPhone.

@l4crosse: Maybe a physical button on the back would need to be pressed to "activate" the screen. It could feel natural but would elimate the ability to use it flat on the table. However, with simple audio controls that may not be a concern.

@brobot: The terminology has always bothered me. It makes sense to me that the swipe direction would refer to the movement of the finger/screen instead of the movement of your "view". Thus MacAttack's description makes more logical sense but you're technically right according to Apple.

If they charge for anti-griefing I'm done with Rockstar.

@ralph the robot: I'd say if there were still major problems with the Toyota cars that they weren't acknowledging you would definitely still be hearing about it. It's the acknowledgement and the recall that allowed the blunder to pass.

@aec007: Wait. Are you telling me that isn't an actual antenna installed in the phone?!

@wagedomain: No, I believe djbender is right. The regular PlayOn that you know and use now will remain "free" (no additional charge). They are adding a premium service with extra channels like ESPN3 and Comedy Central that requires the subscription.

So basically anyone who doesn't follow tech blogs will think that this update hurts their reception. Prepare for a shitstorm Apple.

So basically they're making it so you never actually have any bars so there are none to take away, then combining that with taller bars to subconsciously make you believe you have better signal strength than before. They're fixing a hardware problem with an optical illusion.

So.... how exactly does Kinect-like features, in the post you linked to, copy Apple? Oh right, a fanboy in the comments section post a marketing slide that wasn't even mentioned in the post. Give it a rest.

How does it make more sense now? To me, it makes A LOT less sense. Why would the iPhone user say that?

@Jeff: How can you know you don't want to read something (because it's hard to read) until you try to read it?.... That tired retort doesn't quite fit here.

@jinlee: Well aware of that. But try plugging the DVI cable into the HDMI slot. Doesn't quite fit...

I'd like to see him say that during his keynote. Then I'll let it go.

Time to buy new TVs everyone. Sucks if you've already bought a 3D TV. Last time they did this crap I got stuck with useless DVI instead of HDMI.

@steviejobz: A class action lawsuit against a major tech company is completely relevant to a tech blog.

@MaxPoint: The fact that you have to buy another product to make it work and weren't informed of this at the time of purchase is the problem. It's shady to sell something to someone and then later say, "If you want it to work, you need to give us another $30 (Bumper)".

Maybe without the huge advertisement on the side of it

Anyone else annoyed by how they sometimes twist and manipulate the story text to make room for plugs to other stories? I mean, I understand you want to increase page views and link relevant content but sometimes, like this story, it just makes it really hard to read and reduces the quality of the content dramatically.
