I was going to come down here to disagree, but actually you’re right - my husband’s uncle’s kids are sweet (moreso now they’re older), but they weren’t supervised or controlled at that age. Neither of us wanted someone who brings literal tiny loose cannonballs who crawl between people’s legs for fun unchecked at our

It was basically a band-aid rule we made up. Our flowergirl was 12, and the next oldest kid was like 7 but her wild little sister was 3 and including one sister but not the other was a recipe for family drama. So we picked the age of the flower girl as the rule. It worked for us, you gotta do what works for you =]

Also like, I presume she wasn’t born yesterday. Her first guess is going to be he’s having an affair. Right??

I’ll add WEDDINGS. We said no kids under 12 at our wedding and a couple of people got so cranky. But when we went to weddings where those same lovely perfect children were in attendance, the dance floor was devoid of adults because it had been overtaken by all the kids spinning in circles. Cute? Yes, they were having

Every time I hear the Toys R Us jingle, I think about Mike Fahey reviewing toys.

Actually, Good Omens. Once it’s out I will binge it enough times that I can wait for it to come out on blu-ray or whatever, then cancel my Prime account. I am not joking.

I wouldn’t mind if they’d be a little more transparent about it. This is dumb, but I ordered some fancy desserts to go to family we can’t see this year for Christmas. The shipping estimates all given to be that they’d arrive before Christmas. Because I’ve learned not to trust them, I checked the estimated delivery

I’m also gonna disagree with the folks telling you minorities are more religious - have they MET zealous white Christians? Do y’all reeeeeally want them getting all televangelist in government spaces? Because you KNOW what happens when you give that inch.

You say this facetiously, but I think they probably do think of it that way, a little. A lot of Christians pray for others because they think it counts towards getting them into heaven. “Afterlife insurance.” It’s fucked up and the biggest part of why I feel uncomfortable going to even super progressive churches, let

He just won an Emmy for his comedy special, so I don’t know what you were looking at.

I agree with your first paragraph, but I don’t think intelligence always plays into a situation like this, or any character trait. Never underestimate how much fear can change a person. It can turn any of us into screaming liars.

oh my GOD

I agreeeeee! Also,

I think a lot of pork has tended to be overcooked, and that traces back to when trichinella was considered a huge issue in pork.

I really appreciate their escalation from the stance “let’s consider some opposing viewpoints that might not match yours” to “you’re a fucking idiot.” The contrast is truly impressive.

Getting threatened with a lawsuit is a pretty good clue that the world views something you’ve done as wrong. You can say, well she doesn’t think it was wrong, but you can’t say she didn’t know other people wouldn’t think it’s wrong.

If she didn’t see it that way, why did she pay him to keep it quiet?

I hope the good things she has done will still carry weight”

Same thing about the “it doesn’t represent all Asian-Americans” take. PLEASE. This is a story with two Asian-American characters in it, and they’re mother and daughter. How the hell is it supposed to represent everyone? And why should it? It’s just not what it’s about.

Mmmm Big Parma...
