This is great! I work in library children’s services and this is something we’re teaching all the time.

I agree with Salty! Except the phrasing “Don’t forget to save room for <dessert>!” actually does rub me the wrong way. Let me know you have a dessert menu at the start of the meal, but don’t tell me not to eat too much so I can buy a dessert. It’s mildly shamey (to anyone at any weight), and kind of economically…
This isn’t nearly on the same level of difficulty, but Super Mario Odyssey does this - half of the moon world is stuck behind having to beat all the goddamn rabbits in a goddamned row. It’s not hard stacked against most other games, but it’s definitely hard stacked against the game you’ve been playing, and it annoyed…
I feel you question asker. I just got back from a screening of Sailor Moon S and R (don’t judge) and a group of teenage girls made a point of talking and laughing as much and as loudly as they could. Even when everyone laughed at something, the one girl would be sure to laugh a few seconds after so we wouldn’t forget…

For anyone who uses Overcast, do you find it absolutely EATS your battery if you accidentally leave the app open while you’re listening (rather than shutting the display or minimizing the app)? I’m wondering if it’s the adds, and it would stop being such a drain if I was subscribed? With how much I use the app and how…
Norovirus tore through my husband’s family while we were visiting last Christmas. Nobody was noticeably sick beforehand, which is lucky because no one has to live with the shame of making all but four out of about 35 people hellishly sick. I was one of the four not sick and it was like living in a war zone.
Please tell Iris I love her. I can’t handle how happy this made me.
The casting director gagged her, but the director propositioned her. Two different anecdotes, double depressing =\
Excellent reading comprehension, that’s exactly what the article said.
What are you talking about? CPR is useless for knife and bullet wounds to limbs and most parts of the body. I’m trying to understand how CPR would be useful at all in a knife or gun attack unless someone’s had a heart attack. If someone is shot in the chest you don’t want to pump the wound, you want to pack it and put…
I wish there was like a 1 or 2 movie a week version of the AMC pass for less. It’s a good deal if you see a lot of movies, but for a couple it’s $480 a year. That’s much more than I spent on movies before moviepass. I know $20 for ~12 movies a month is objectively a good deal, but I’d be happy with $10 for ~4 a month
NOPE. I went to Japan with my husband in April and no joke one of the things we were super excited about was that we got to watch the new episodes a month early on Japanese Netflix. We are obSESSED.
Yes, but even worse there’s no organization amongst the people who disagree with fascists. It’s just the general public who doesn’t like them at worst, maybe loosely grouped into a few different political parties at best.
“#NotAllNerds”
The comments on the Times article were terrifying. I didn’t read far because they were honestly upsetting, but the majority were in support of the laws and the ones in support of it had way more thumbs up than the ones indicating the appropriate level of horror. It was a mix of Danes and Americans. I can’t.
I was really put off by the psychoanalyze yourself episode (the evil twin one). It just doesn’t read right to take a bunch of people who are emotionally frayed from this whole experience and then critique their ability to talk publicly about their inner demons. It’s not something someone who isn’t a trained…
I’d go ahead and just add “all hot food.” Hot food smells. I don’t care if it smells good or bad, when I’m stuck on a plane with its already-nasty-smelling recycled air, I want as few odors as possible added to the stink stew.
BAHAHAHA YESSS!
There’s also a weird implication to it that if we accept the purely visual criticisms of the picture (the ones that have to do with how they look in relation to each other, not with Karl Lagerfeld or Nicki Minaj as people and their work/history/beliefs), then a successful black woman can’t be photographed doing her job…
