Yeah 0 Faranheit today is beach weather....

Sure, those are fun too. Turns out, there different types of people in the world with different ideas of what’s fun. And that’s okay!

God bless Dodge for having the wherewithal to have fun with cars. I would be proud to ride into battle on the Fury Road in any of their gloriously stupid horsepower-monsters.

The average car price in the US is now what... $48,000? Do any automakers offer an honest, smallish, true SUV like this anymore? I don’t think so... and if they do, certainly not for under $40k. So by virtue of supply and demand (and it being a Toyota which cancels out many age-related concerns) then someone will

This is where the internet and reputations get really annoying.

I think you are confusing a retirement plan with a used car purchase.

No it doesn’t just affect you. It affects your loved ones, and it affects the first responders, and the clean up crews, and it affects their loved ones too dealing with their PTSD, and it affects everyone’s health insurance too. Scraping up your mangled body after you yeeted yourself through the windscreen, or

Hey, this is great and much-needed

Does this only apply to snow build up on top of the car. If I end up with build up inside the wheel well while driving and that comes loose am I going to be fined.

There is a junkyard near me that specializes in Japanese trucks like 4runners and Land Cruisers and they have a wall of “wishful thinking” of people’s posts for outrageous sums for their old Toyotas. Sounds like they may have a whole new addition to the wall with these guys.

Not really a 4runner guy, but looking at them side by side is reason enough for me. Most new SUVs just lack character

I’m pretty sure being positive or complimentary of absolutely anything makes you a Republican, and thus the devil, in 2024.

I miss Jalopnik before it became the Hater’s Ball of car websites.

the real answer? 2014-2015 suby forester XT.

AWD exists for one reason, and one reason only: CAFE standards. It enables automakers to charge customers more money for less efficient cars by playing bait and switch with mechanical stuff that’s too complicated for most people to even try to understand.

Say it louder please !

Can we please stop perpetuating the myth that AWD (as used in economy crossovers) provides any actual function or benefit beyond adding drag, weight, and complication?

If a person asks me for new car suggestions and has pretty “regular” requirements, I’m not going to recommend a track focused car or off road focused car.  I’m going to recommend a pretty “regular” car.  Why deal with the shit reliability a fuel economy of a Wrangler if they don’t need it?  Why deal with the poor fuel

Why so much off road capability if they didn’t even so much as mention off roading?
