I lived in WI for 15 years and have seen some shit. 1996? Three FEET of snow fell overnight in Columbus OH. So yeah, we know snow.

We’re not talking about golf carts on I-70 here. There are whole neighborhoods down there zoned for NEVs (Neighborhood Electric Vehicles).
I’m going to take a guess you haven’t spent a week in New Orleans.
Does having a DMV learner’s permit give one extra skill at cornering golf carts on gravel??
I second that. I would love to be able to buy a car with or without a infotainment system kinda like the E90 generation BMW which if you got without iDrive, had a humpless dash with no trace of a screen missing.
What Is The Best American Car Ever Made?
K-Car(s) - Toss the Caravan in there too.
I love the 4 runner but i couldn’t pay 50 grand and only get 15 mpg out of that lug. better off buying an older 4 runner as a second vehicle and have something more economical to drive around town.
I went from a set of General Altimax (very well reviewed for the money) snow tires on my FRS to some Firestone Winterforce 2 because they were on sale from Tire Rack when the Generals needed replacing. I’d say the brand new Firestones were a minimal step up from the worn out Generals.
“ It’s got to be embarrassing for the likes of Pirelli and Goodyear to see their winter tires outperformed by a set of all-seasons.”
Yup, nailed it.
To be far, when has anyone thought a work van has looked good? You use it for work and if use one every for a job you don't like you're going to hate it
Outback owner here- I doubt I’ll buy another Outback because I don’t need the size anymore, but I love everything else about it so a nice crosstrek sounds good. Also, I have zero desire to wear a flat brim hat pulled down over my ears so I don’t really want a WRX version.
Whatever the merits of this car are, the egregious premise of this article is disappointing. Just seems like you had to ram “granola girl” and a barely veiled lesbian reference with the REI thing in there. I’m all for jokes but this is lazy bullshit.
I assume most of you are blocked by a paywall for this article. Suffice to say, the only vehicles on this list that are actually economical are hybrids. Most of the rest have an average city fuel economy around 14-15 MPG by CR’s measurements. Not figures I’d be touting in a piece about fuel efficient vehicles.
Mostly agreed. Sedan should have separated cargo and people compartments. Any *.UV would have a cargo compartment shared with the cabin. At “best” I could call it a hatchback. Like a giant oversized VW Golf.
The number of idiots who want to pay MORE money for an SUV that’s LESS useful and UGLIER never ceases to amaze me.
“A coupe is defined as a closed roof, 2-door passenger car with a three-box body for the engine and the passenger compartment. Most importantly, a coupe is a vehicle with interior space that is under 33 cubic feet.”
I’m sorry, SUV coupe? Do words have meanings anymore?
Not a coupe.
