I should have been a bit more specific in my reply. THIS was what I was imagining while writing:

All these people saying cosmetic mods are stupid. No they are not. People like to have things that are unique to them. Maybe it’s not your cup of tea, but if the person that bought them likes how it looks then its not dumb.

Lowering a car can made it look and handle better.  Obnoxious amounts of camber is just stupid and dangerous though.

Looks mighty fine! And still has plenty of clearance.

Yep. I’ll again never run anything besides AT’s on a truck. Many benefits, the only con is I maybe lost 1 MPG at most on the highway.

While you may have been correct on that diagnosis if that wing was making meaningful downforce (a lot of those cheap wings do not), the problem with putting a bunch of rear downforce only in the front has zero to do with whether the car is front wheel drive.

Rear downforce on a FWD car helps to reduce understeer, so wings are, in fact, helpful in the correct applications and when done the right way.

There is no car modification that is a waste of money because if its legal, does not harm others, and you like it then do it and who cares what others think about your car?

But not all mods are worth spending your money on. A classic example is adding a massive wing to the back of a front-wheel drive economy car.

I will say when I put BFG KO2s on my Xterra for the first time, I was blown away by how quiet they were. I’m sure actual mud tires are noisy but these A/Ts were impressive.

I know there will likely be a bunch of “moar camber!!” folks here, so I apologize a little bit in advance.

Whatever mod makes that ‘96 beater Civic sound like it’s farting from the exhaust.

Haven’t really noticed AT’s making more noise. Are you confusing those with Mudders?

ATs can be helpful if you drive on lots of long, gravel roads in mountains and valleys throughout the Western U.S. I’m talking about the kinds of gravel roads that go on for many miles. The deep treads catch sharp rocks and prevent them from giving you a flat. But not all ATs are created equal, some are much worse on

Well, at least LEDs are more designed to go into reflectors because they fire the light at the reflector usually where as HIDs just blast it in all directions because they are INTENDED to go in projectors where the projector does the light directing/limiting.

I feel like mud-terrains are more wasteful/useless for daily use.

Window stickers that display the make or model of the car. Gee, I wonder what kind of car that is? Oh look on the window, it’s a Charger. Whew, I thought it was a Prius.

HID retrofits in reflector housings. You literally pay to make your lights sooo much worse for both yourself and everyone else. And if you go with those fucking stupid blue lights, over a normal headlight color temperature, you might as well stay home because the more blue the lights, the less you can see. Dumbasses!!

Definitely. Where I’ve seen the biggest price increases (and some of these intersect):

This $20,000 price point is absurd. Here’s our new-to-us $8k 300ZX. Patience, luck and an adventurous spirit pays off.
