Yet a 1990 Buick with a 3.3L V6 will cruise along at 85 mph just as easy as any modern car making 2x the power....... Difference is, it’ll average 30mpg while doing it instead of 20mpg like the modern car.

Yet 90s cars were not only more fuel efficient than their modern counterparts in real world use, but they’re also far more comfortable and far more reliable.

rallymaniac555 failing to realize the majority of people commenting here are still daily driving things pre-2000 and think modern vehicles are shit.

If you thought that sarcasm you’re part of the problem with this country.

Alright, but there’s a real problem here. Drive Thrus should be easily accessible to truck drivers.

People realize they’re not the “cheap/easy to own” vehicle they thought?

It’s a Tahoe. 300k is just getting broke in if it’s been cared for.

Likely because you’re buying someone else’s unmaintained POS and having to catch up on all the maintenance they’ve neglected.

Yours maybe weren’t. My 66 Electra had 384k miles when I sold it, that’s as a WI daily driver it’s whole life.
That 425 Nailhead still ran perfectly and didn’t leak/burn anything. Did plugs every 30k, did points 3x in it’s life, replaced belts/hoses at 100k just like any modern vehicle, the body went rust free far

I absolutely loved it. It was a monster for towing while being perfectly capable as a family hauler/road trip vehicle as well.
It also spent as much time in the shop as it did on the road.

Can confirm.

While they might be underpowered, they’re f-ing cockroach engines. They’re still chugging along all over here in the rust belt.

Yes it was, for the first few model years. The 1992 update solved the issue. But again, it’s name was already tarnished despite them fixing the issue and there being a simple/cheap fix.

And a simple valve stem seal swap would have solved your problem....

With 400ft-lbs of torque and easily lasting 3-400k miles without issue.... Shame on them!

Stopped for the photo op as it was the only FWD to make it through. The AWD guys that did try were getting stuck there

Not a Van Life problem, it’s a “Wrong Tires” issue.

Any car can have the “best” or “worst” engine depending on ownership.

Not a single SUV on this list.

So “Consumer Reports” “Best SUVs” are actually all CUVs..... Interesting.
